During a recent visit to @RadleyCollege , our team had the privilege of engaging with school leadership, students, and staff. We left deeply impressed by their unwavering commitment to fostering global responsibility. #GlobalCitizenship#SDG4#SDG17 https://t.co/GwHtLmUdkm
I am thrilled to share that the @ComEdTrust launched its “1 Million Teachers SAY YES” campaign in Lagos, Nigeria last June as part of our initiative—to empower and uplift educators with accessible, high‑impact professional development through our #Teach2030 platform. With over 10.000 registered users in Nigeria alone, we were naturally motivated.
It was an honour to be amongst educators who despite huge challenges have remained passionate about teaching and understand the role that teachers play in nation building across the The @commonwealthsec and globally.
Thank you to #Teach2030 ambassador Kelechi Ezeigwe, and the amazing staff at St Abigails for all of your help. Together we will achieve better learning outcomes for more children across Nigeria.
@bbceducation@UNESCO@GEMReport@TeacherPrize@GlblCtznUK@GPforEducation we would love to work with you in helping teachers teach better 📷

In its latest #AfricasPulse Report , the @WorldBank underscores the urgent need to revolutionise education systems in Africa to support inclusive economic growth. With a growing youth population and a rapidly evolving global economy, investing in education is crucial to unlocking the continent's full potential.
With 170 million more students entering schools by 2030, the region must build 9 million classrooms and hire 11 million teachers.
In 2022, the @ComEdTrust's #Teach2030 programme was one of the 10 ‘Spotlight’ selections identified as one of the leading solutions from around the world helping teachers thrive in an ever-changing classroom.
This ‘Spotlight’, Teachers for a Changing World, is a collaboration between The The World Bank Group and @HundrEDorg , with financing from the @GPforEducation (GPE).
Beyond financing, the focus must shift to improving learning outcomes and equipping youth with skills for the fast-changing job market.
🔑 Other key steps include:
💡 Building strong foundations by ensuring all children acquire basic skills.
💡 Investing smartly to make education spending more efficient.
With smarter investments in education, we can double GDP per capita and create long-term prosperity.
It's time to prioritise the future of Africa’s workforce and teachers are an integral part of this future! 🚀.

Today is Commonwealth Day!
To celebrate the Jersey Commonwealth Parliamentary Association initiated a cultural exchange meeting between d’Auvergne School in Jersey and Bridget Bilingual Nursery and Primary School in Cameroon.
The Commonwealth Education Trust arranged the virtual meet-up for year 3 children, so they could ask each other questions about their culture, lives, and countries.

Today, Cameroon celebrates Youth Day. With 70% of its population below the age of 25, it ia cearly a defining moment for its future.
I visited Belmon Bilingual Secondary school in Douala (Cameroon) this week where Odilia Tamfu, one of our #Teach2030 ambassadors shared how beneficial our courses have been in improving her teaching and has encouraged other teachers to join.
With the @commonwealthsec declaring 2023/24 as the #YearofYouth, Teachers undoubtedly have a crucial role to play in transforming the lives of these young people.
