I'm an older millennial. In middle school we said "retard", myself included. We even beat our arms against our chest to make fun of disabilities.

@FitzGSN_ Imho the 04-05 lockout and subsequent loss of ESPN, is why the (soft) cap of the NBA is more than $50 million above the (hard) cap of the NHL. I also think that’s partly why the NHL hasnt gone to a hard cap. Even with Sid Ovi et al, that lockout has set the NHL back a decade(s?)

You are trying to blame socialism for events that were created, executed, protected, and prolonged entirely by capitalism.

Let us start with 2008.

The crash did not happen because the U.S. government helped people buy homes.

It happened because Wall Street turned housing into a casino and sold toxic debt as investment-grade gold.

Your government’s crime was not socialism.

It was obedience.

It deregulated banks, repealed safeguards, and let private lenders gamble with the entire global economy.

When the bubble burst, capitalism did not take responsibility.

It begged the state to save it.

And it did.

Banks were bailed out.

Corporations were rescued.

Shareholders survived.

Families did not.

If you think that is socialism, you do not understand the word.

It is corporate welfare.

It is capitalism demanding public money to clean up private greed.

Now COVID.

You claim 95 percent of Americans would have been fine without lockdowns or vaccines.

That is not analysis. It is delusion.

The only reason hospitals did not collapse completely was state intervention.

The only reason supply chains did not break irreversibly was state coordination.

The only reason your economy still exists is because the government pumped trillions into private markets to stop capitalism from eating itself alive.

If capitalism worked, it would not need a national-scale injection of public money to keep from dying.

Then your final claim.

"USD is ruined because of interventions."

No.

The dollar is ruined because capitalism cannot survive a crisis without socialism propping it up.

Every time the market fails, the state prints money to save it, then capitalism blames the state for saving it.

This is the part you refuse to see:

Capitalism creates the disaster.

The state absorbs the damage.

Then capitalism complains that the rescue proves socialism is the problem.

You are not critiquing socialism.

You are confessing capitalism’s dependence on it.

You just do not realize it.

And that is the real failure here.

Not the economy.

Your understanding of it.
