The far-right is on the rise across Europe.
They peddle a politics of hate.
We must promise a politics of hope:
Combating racism – not stoking it.
Defending refugees – not scapegoating them.
Building a society that works for all – not protecting a system rigged for the rich.
Strengthening workers' rights and reversing anti-trade union laws must be priorities for a new Labour government.
Big business and the right wing media will try and undermine progress. As trade unionists, we must ensure there is no backsliding.

Today, we announced that 114 firefighters injured in the Grenfell tragedy have settled in the High Court.
Firefighters stand with all those demanding justice and accountability.
The government must take action to ensure such a disaster never recurs. @MattWrack on @LBCNews
🚨NEW: Firefighters warn of “criminal complacency” after Wembley cladding fire
At least 125 firefighters and 20 fire engines were called to a cladding fire in Wembley yesterday.
Government ministers and building companies have failed to take action to ensure buildings are safe.
The right to peacefully protest outside the seat of government is a long cherished one. The police should sit down with the demonstration organisers and resolve this, as has been done with previous protests.
“It’s nothing short of industrial vandalism. We know the Tories privatised the steel industry in the 80s. It was the same Tories who also closed our pits. Unite are here to say that we won’t stand for it.” @unitetheunion’s Joe Rollin outside Westminster this morning. #PortTalbot
As darkness falls on a cold January day let's again hear it for @ASLEFunion members out on strike for proper pay. It's an age old fight but worth every single ounce of effort. Solidarity!
David Cameron, new Home Secretary, is nolonger an Elected MP. He's in the unelected House of Lords. He's spent the last 7 years writing his memoirs & part of failed finance firm for which he lobbed senior ministers. Nothing says 13 more years like this. 🙃 #cabinetreshuffle
NEW 🚨 | The sale of land bought for HS2 is set to cost the taxpayer more than £100 MILLION in losses.
The government is selling the land to stop future administrations reversing their decision to cancel parts of HS2.
We are a two-and-a-half-trillion-pound economy, the sixth richest economy in the world. There are families with both parents working having to visit food banks. What’s going on? Different choices can be made and Labour have to be bolder. #LPC23

When workers wanted pay rises to match soaring living costs, Tory ministers told them to accept "pay restraint" to combat inflation.
Now FTSE 100 bosses get a 16% pay rise – taking average pay to £3,900,000 – and Tory ministers are silent.
That tells you whose side they're on.
Housing refugees on prison ships is morally indefensible.
Political cowardice comes at a cost — and the most vulnerable will pay the highest price.
That’s why I’ll continue to campaign alongside my community for an immigration system based on compassion, dignity and respect.
If reports of NPF are accurate it means despite 4 million children in poverty the 2 child limit will remain & now on pensions the commitment to the triple lock has gone despite there being 2 million pensioners still in poverty. Fiscal responsibility doesn’t have to mean hardship
Want more UK workers in Healthcare? Invest in training, put a cap on ridiculously high agency fees, including temp to perm fees often 10% +. Ensure Healthcare workers are paid a proper real living wage and give workers rights from day one. 4/4
I work in Healthcare Recruitment. The Tories are so focused on Net Immigration figures that they will literally kill people. Overseas workers in Healthcare aren't unskilled "illegal" immigrants. 1/4
These workers pay thounds of pounds in flights, visas, accommodation and more, in order to work and pay tax in the UK. Tories like Tom Hunt & Lee Anderson will have you believe these workers are a burden and taking jobs. 3/4
