🗣️ Proposal #16: Dymension vs Juno
I see too many comparisons between @dymension's new proposal and @JunoNetwork's proposal #16. Let's clarify why they're not identical and clear up any misunderstandings.
Juno's proposal #16: This was about revoking tokens from a whale accused of exploiting the airdrop system by using multiple addresses to claim way more $JUNO than expected. The goal was to maintain fairness in the community by redistributing or destroying these excess tokens.
Dymension’s proposal #16: This aims to modify the code so that $DYM in locked accounts cannot be transferred. These locked accounts can still stake DYM and receive liquid rewards, but the DYM from rewards will remain locked until the specified vested period.
Key difference: In Juno's case, the $JUNO were confiscated from the whale and placed into the community pool for redistribution or destruction. In contrast, Dymension's proposal does not involve confiscating any $DYM. Instead, it ensures that DYM in locked accounts remain non-transferable until their unlock period.

BREAKING ⚛️
Coingecko adjusts to the correct circulating supply for $ATOM to 380 million (was at 290m before)
This means ATOM is now ranked #22 and has a $4.6 billion FDV.
After many discussions with our community we decided to switch our vote on @cosmoshub prop 848 from abstain to YES.
We value community sentiment and opinions, and we also think it's worth a shot.
If something doesn't work, we are ready for another governance proposal 👩🚀
Following extended discussions and weighing arguments from both sides of yes/no voters, we've opted to vote YES on @cosmoshub prop #848.
Most importantly, we are in favor of maintaining a bonded goal of 67% or more, and hold the following opinions:
$ATOM security is a must!
We are not in favor of reducing inflation if it means the potential for a decreased bonded ATOM (<67%). We believe this could heighten the risk to Cosmos Hub security. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that high inflation will achieve the target ratio of 67% $ATOM supply bonded.
Decreasing inflation while maintaining bonded tokens
We also share the belief that reducing Cosmos Hub inflation could pave the way for DeFi's future expansion and more $ATOM utility. And that this can be achieved while safeguarding the security of the Cosmos Hub.
Boost the pace of the inflation change parameter
What is more certain, is to increase the rate of inflation changes. As a result, hopefully, the community can rally to achieve the target bonded ratio of 67%, and the yearly inflation rate can quickly drop to sustainable levels.
While keeping this viewpoint in mind, we endorse the initiative to enhance $ATOM tokenomics and will closely monitor the results.
In the genesis file of the Cosmos Hub, @SikkaTech added a string: "The Times 11/Mar/2019 Brexit vote must be put on hold, MPs warn May"
Just as Bitcoin was a revolution in finance, it's own genesis file harkening to the chancellor's bailout of banks, Cosmos is meant to be a revolution in governance.
If I had to describe the unique value proposition of $ATOM in one sentence, it would be: The Most Decentralized Governance Token in all of crypto.
In most DAOs, voting is just a smoke and mirrors show to rubberstamp decisions already struck behind closed doors. Not so in ATOM governance.
The "chaos" you see in ATOM governance is evidence of how decentralized and passionate its community is – a community that actually has the means to use their voice and their stake to have direct say into the evolution of their product. I don't think people appreciate how truly radical that is in the crypto industry.
Today in crypto, there are two primary capital assets – BTC and ETH. I sincerely believe that ATOM has a real shot at establishing itself as a third capital asset.
Bitcoin is digital gold with its permanent unchanging monetary policy.
Ether is the petrodollar, with a supply system pushed and pulled by demand for gas (via eip1559) and its usage as collateral (via staking).
ATOM can build the "decentral bank", a capital asset with greater dynamism due to it having a true governance system. Monetary policy can be in the hands of its stakeholders, not some talking heads at a foundation.
Capital assets are not measured in their revenue, they're measured in the amount of debt they can denominate in themself. The path to monetary dominance is not one of passiveness; the US Dollar engaged in ACTIVE monetary expansionism to achieve its global dominance.
A governance-based ATOM asset can pursue activities such as protocol owned liquidity injections, staking reward rev-shares, and active monetary policy – superpowers that BTC and ETH don't have.
Many altcoins came before ETH. They all tried to play BTC's game. They all failed. ETH came and built a fundamentally different thesis to how crypto monetary systems can work. Whatever the #3 monetary asset is, it can't play the same game as BTC and ETH. It needs to have a fundamentally different thesis.
This might work. It might not. But its an experiment worth pursuing.
Sometimes it’s not just about the technical pros/cons. If this prop doesn’t pass, think there is a chance that a significant portion of the community (stakers/end-users) will loose hope for the future of $Atom and leave

I think if Proposal 848 is not gonna pass on @cosmoshub , I am going to start reallocating my $ATOM position (thinking upwards of 50%) to protocols that align more with me.
Still waiting on some Top Validators to vote.
