@pointercountusa@CollinRugg Lmao show me a prominent figure calling this dickhead a hero and I'll make a whole video for you telling them why they are wrong
@lxeagle17 Because my ideology doesn't change based on which side of the aisle is being affected. I genuinely don't agree with the Insurrection clause, or how it was applied in this case, or how much power states have in federal elections
@LinkofSunshine I don't think this is taking into account how the Overton window shifts. People are supposed to get more progressive over time, that's how progress works. I don't think it's clear that Biden is more progressive relative to today's standards than Obama was in 2008
@whstancil Well that's silly. If inflation was solely due to wage increases, then you wouldn't see an increase in profits
But many industries have seen record prices over the last 2 years
@Kwalter135@ArmandDoma What is the reason then? I can also see the very understandable reasoning that your wage is in your control and prices are not, so if you can wave a magic wand once to change one of them, I'm gonna change the thing I would have no control over otherwise
@whstancil Or, you know, college debt factoring into economic outlooks. Or the fact that older generations have far more wealth and a shorter economic outlook than young people
Both seem like incredibly reasonable explanations for this divide
@whstancil Older generations are also propagandized by the media they consume, but the sources for that media are far more consolidated
What makes you think that the problem is social media propagandizing young people, and not legacy media propagandizing old people?
@bendreyfuss Both the US and Israel are both 1) organizations that 2) carries out terrorist attacks
Your own definition applies to both sides in this conflict, so it's pretty misleading to only condemn one as a terrorist organization
It's CRAZY to me so many people in a DEMOCRACY would rather blame people for voting "incorrectly" than blame their preferred candidate for failing to win their votes
Especially when the key issue at hand is a policy position that 80% of the party disagrees with
one reason biden is sunk is that 95% of you are utter moral cowards who are so afraid being deemed uncool by your internet friends that you can't find it in yourself to choke out the admission that maybe trump is worse and voting against biden is really dangerous
@besttrousers I feel like job quality and job satisfaction are two different things.
Something being merely "satisfactory" doesn't mean it's good quality.
Something that people spend the plurality of their waking hours doing should have a higher bar for quality than merely "satisfactory"
@at12tone@Noahpinion A temporary pause is not a ceasfire. He was very explicit about this just a week ago when he was calling for a humanitarian pause and refusing any chance of a ceasfire
You may think you're being courteous when you use someone's preferred nickname, but you're not. You're being abused. You're graciously granting the wishes of a bully who demands your affirmation at the expense of both your dignity and the truth. That's cowardice, not courtesy.

@normative And then you join the workforce and realize that many of those human pathologies are not innate parts of human nature, but instead produced by the material conditions of our lives. And many of the worst ones can be traced back the backwards incentive structures in capitalism
@whstancil Why would you blame voters for, in your opinion, voting wrong...
Before you blame the president of the United States for sticking with a massively unpopular decision which is actively losing their votes?
Full throated .@POTUS endorsement of @IDF operation on Al-Shifa: "The first war crimes were committed by Hamas. By having their headquarters, their military, under a hospital. That’s a fact. That happened."
"We’ve discussed the need for @IDF to be incredibly careful."...
