I reported it the same day, to maximise the time for WMP, but they seem to be understaffed to deal with it.

Frustratingly received an email today from @WMPolice that they were unable to issue a NIP to the driver of this car, who close passed me into oncoming traffic (forcing the oncoming driver to stop), due to lack of time. Driver will get a warning letter. Disappointing.

@ShivajiShivaLaw @BhamCityCouncil I'd report that to @WMPolice - as @markandcharlie will surely agree, these vehicles are left in a dangerous position. They might act where the Council won't. It's just a shame that it's up to us to act.

@jaj991 Thanks for alerting me to the update. Happy to see most of mine acted upon, even when I didn't receive an email. I had only four submissions in July, so no hard data on warning letters.

@Petercl04558275 People think AI will revolutionise their life. I agree, but I don't think it will in a way they like it. Imagine the crooks using AI to crank out scams that actually pass the first appearance tests.

@2wheelsgoodBrum Yes. VRM not clear, red light not clear, foreign reg, stopping on crossing not clear. All had clear feedback what would have made the report actionable (though that wouldn't have helped with the foreign reg).

@UFO_London From personal experience, West Midlands police use a number of offences for this: Leaving the vehicle in a dangerous position is the one I see most frequently mentioned in their feedback. I do emphasise the obstruction of views between pedestrians and road traffic in my reports.

And I just received confirmation that the driver received a FPN for driving without due care.

I made enemy contact yesterday. Luckily no injuries or damage. I was in a mini-roundabout turning right, and the driver approaching from the left "didn't see" me. If they missed a 6' bloke on a bike with permanent dynamo lighting, they probably should get their eyes tested.

I was reasonably cautious, so I managed to avoid riding in front of them and they only touched my front wheel. But how can less experienced cyclists be expected to ride safely if this is the standard of driving on a residential road? Reported to WMP, so stills only at the moment.

@Proudcumbrian @CoventryCycle It’s a mistake called “driving without due care and attention” and all too often ends in serious injury or death. If you’re in charge of a 2.5t machine capable of well over 100mph you need to be a bit more careful and get yourself to specsavers once in a while.
