@ConnorGuest16 Thinking about the 5 c's referenced in lecture, I think these platforms appeal to human nature by creating a community and giving patients connections based on support. #uwj201
@KalenKlitzke I think it is effective because not only is it supporting a positive message but it is also keeping aerie relevant. There is an emphasis on natural and healthy beauty today so aerie emphasizing natural beauty keeps them on trend and pulls in the customers who support that.#uwj201
Many people in today's society still refuse to get their children vaccinated. Thinking about what learned in lecture about health communication, what do you think the most effective way would be to persuade them to get vaccinated? #uwj201
For the peripheral route in the Elaboration Likelihood Model, there are 6 characteristics that relate to the how likely will be persuaded. (for example credibility of source) Which do you believe is most effective? #uwj201
@KantorAlexa I believe that likability is the most effective persuasion principe because it creates positive connections in the viewers mind with the product. This positive connotation is memorable and will trigger the viewer to say yes. #uwj201
@LukeDavis199 In my experience I believe I am more often being persuaded. Most journalists do try to tell the honest truth, but it is human nature for their bias to peek through. Because they do try for honesty, I believe it is more often persuasion rather than manipulation.
@pessefed I don't believe this will lead to less polarization because there will be other ways for politicians to get the message out. However, I do think it is a good first step and will force people to pay attention to ideas rather than mis-leading tweets. #UWJ201
In lecture today, we discussed online opinion vs public opinion. Although we know that they don't always match do you believe online opinion still plays a role in public conversations and in what way? #uwj201
@AMoeckler While Ellen's show is wonderful, she only addresses issues of importance in her opening dialogue. The majority of her show is games and pop culture references. I think watching talks show like this are a great way to spark interest but are not beneficial without further research
@BSheres @ATveleneva I think with the expansion of social media and it's growth, the media is becoming more inclusive and more voices are being heard. While I believe the elites will continue to control the agenda, I do believe social media gives a voice to the non-elites.
@KopchaCassie I believe that is important for journalists to report the truth, but if citizens were to remain aware of the bias that is out there and challenge it, then it will help hold news outlets accountable. #uwj201
Based on lecture today, political news coverage is not biased to favor one political party, however the public does believe this is true. Why might that be? #uwj201
@yeony_sim I believe that news stories today are more sensationalized because that is what the public wants and looks for, in comparison to being based on actual fact. #uwj201
@EloraLangseth I believe that accuracy is the most important because if we compare these to the ethics of journalism talked about in lecture on Monday they all more or less relate back to seeking the truth and reporting it. #uwj201
@cmolson7 I think that the majority of people are impacted by judgement when they are deciding what to share and what not to share on social media. The reading states that the majority of students focused on how their peers would evaluate them for the content they posted. #UWJ201
