Today, the Supreme Court overturned the ban on bump stocks, making mass shootings like the one that killed my cousin far more likely to include a higher death count.

Prop 19 property tax bills are retroactive to parent's date of death. Even if you sell and leave CA, expect a massive tax bill on the way out

When the parent dies, you get reassessed which can result in a higher tax bill despite the $1 mill exemption if you move in within a year. If you move out later, you get reassessed at current property values.
