@PlanWithBob One more reason: If you move into an inherited primary home and move out later, you get reassessed to current market value, according to the San Diego assessor
@SukritGanesh @KarinaVlaw There may be a $1 million exemption but if you ever move out of that primary home you will get reassessed to current market values. The primary home now has less Prop 13 protection!

@530BruceRoss@TedLesher@rohindhar The primary residence is now subject to 2 reassessments. When the parent dies, you get reassessed which can result in a higher tax bill despite the $1 mill exemption if you move in within a year. If you move out later, you get reassessed at current property values.
