Scandium mine is the opening note in a symphony because behind this Sc resource sits an enormous Ni and Co sulphate resource… there’s a lot of interest there in a number of governments…

US-Australia cooperation on minerals is about more than just REEs. Mapping out US vulnerabilities and AUS capacities, titanium feedstocks, scandium and bauxite show the largest complementarity.
Interesting historical account of our deposit in Fifield as a significant global source of platinum. Our 2018 Mineral Resource estimated 1 million oz of contained Pt within the Sunrise deposit, in addition to the nickel, cobalt and scandium.

@BenPennings Temperate forests, on the other hand, are doing better. Longer growing seasons, etc. Managed forests lock in more carbon because elemental carbon is half the mass of dry wood, and this gets locked away in the built environment.
This is a big deal for the western supply chain for scandium
It restores the original 2017 mining license area after an extensive review process with a brand new 25 year period
Sunrise Nyngan & Burra are the clearest path to a 100-200 tonne western scandium supply at $1500-2,000/kg USD when the western market demands it
Have said it before and will say it again, for ~$200 million you could have two of these three online in <4 years and then the third ready to be built as the market grows
Given the permitting status, the first two would probably be Sunrise and Nyngan
If you don’t want the west at the mercy of Chinese scandium production the answer is a couple hour drive outside of Dubbo NSW
Because if you’ve been looking at the news lately, sounds like China doesn’t feel like being the western world supplier anymore
Two years into Israel’s genocide in Gaza, we’ve conducted a poll to determine where Australian attitudes are at. People want Australia to sanction Israel. They can see what’s happening and they want it to stop.

The Ministry of State Security, China’s top intelligence agency, warned this week of foreign attempts to by-pass China’s export controls on critical minerals. Eight suspects have been arrested and are facing criminal prosecution, following multiple arrests in May. The restrictions cover ‘dual use items’, including scandium.
As a dual use item, approval to ship scandium is now granted by China’s State Council and Central Military Commission in Beijing [Art. 17]. Foreign organizations must supply information related to contracts, technical reports and end-use details, and commit directly to China’s State Council to comply with rules relating to transshipment, re-export, labelling and re-use [Art. 48 & 49]. These rules apply to every agent in the supply chain and can be enforced extra-territorially [Art. 36].
Question. How do companies engage in the wholesale transfer of commercial data and intellectual property under these rules without undermining national security interests.
In a UN speech today, President Trump said that "all of these [climate] predictions were wrong".
Back in 2019 I led a research effort to digitize old climate model projections and assess how well they did. Turns out they got future warming pretty spot on!
How can Israel be considered a partner for peace, asks the Emir of Qatar. “They visit our country and plot to attack it. They negotiate with delegations and plot to assassinate the members of the negotiation teams.”
Interesting report from Reuters overnight that the US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is planning to purchase 6.4 tonnes of scandium oxide worth up to $40m from Rio Tinto over the next five years to enhance the US defence stockpile.
At an implied price of $6,250/kg oxide (or 4-6x the price before China imposed its export ban in April) this announcement demonstrates three things about scandium: (1) the Department of Defense understands how critical this metal is in key technology markets such as semiconductors and speciality alloys; (2) scandium’s implicit value is far higher per unit of weight than all other rare earths; and (3) the cost of domestic supply from North America is very high.
We will bring a better solution to market – one that is larger, lower cost and readily scalable.
@robert_ivanhoe wouldn’t be surprised to see the US Government support @SunriseMetals scandium project. Watch this space. This is it. This is really it! And that’s why I’m on this call.

@BMO Capital's analyst Andrew Mikitchook maintained his bullish view and the price target of $7.50 for @SunriseMetals $SRL.ax. Another very important comment he made: "we would not be surprised to see an offtake that could potentially include a price floor."
The UN has confirmed what we knew all along: it’s a genocide.
Meanwhile, Albanese’s govt just spent $500k on missiles from an Israeli company that used footage of an unarmed man’s murder by drone in Gaza to advertise weapons.
PM, time to end the arms trade and impose sanctions?
$SRL Very strong buying by investment bank clients. Spotted it quite early but didn't buy. Another great missed opportunity.
