There are so many inaccuracies in this argument, so let me address them one after the other.

Student visas: The UK does not require every international student to return home after graduation. That is not a visa condition.

Graduate visas: The UK government deliberately created a legal pathway for graduates to stay, work and potentially switch visas.

Low wages: Employers determine wages, not migrants. If companies exploit workers, hold the employers accountable.

Public services: Most international students cannot claim public funds, must prove financial capacity and pay the NHS surcharge.

Dependants: Since January 2024, most new international students have been prohibited from bringing dependants.

Small boats: Asylum seekers arriving by small boats and international students are entirely different immigration categories.

Teenage employment: Where is the evidence that immigrants, rather than wider economic and recruitment problems, are responsible for youth unemployment?

Putting citizens first: Protecting British workers and treating lawful migrants fairly are not mutually exclusive.

Your own country: Patriotism does not require xenophobia, and demanding government accountability does not justify scapegoating migrants.

Finally, you cannot create legal immigration pathways, recruit international students, collect their tuition fees and taxes, benefit from their labour, then blame them for using the opportunities your government deliberately created. Ire o
