Contributions: David, Kavita and Maria contributed design ideas, useful skepticism, and a lot of cheering from the shore. Acknowledgments. We thank Facilities for the materials, the help, and most of all for not competing this year.
Fashionably late, but congratulations to our friend Mohita for pushing her paper over the line. This time we got to measure lactylation: another rare PTM checked of the bucket list. https://t.co/xAg6DHbWcF
A new Research Tech joined the MS Shared Resource: welcome David Boone! David comes to CSHL after shining as an undergrad synthetic chemist at Hofstra. Now he will look at small (biological) molecules through ion lenses and orbitrap detectors.
BUT DIA IS MORE SENSITIVE. There are a lot of application, from PTM analyses to TMT experiments, that still require DDA. At @CshlMassSpec we use HDR-DDA when we need good interpretable MS2, and go DIA when numbers matter.
@manojit_ms 's magnum opus is out there! This is an incredibly rich paper (could have been three papers, really). Big congrats to Manojit and the @trotmanlab! https://t.co/BtJcrBWFvY
@KentsisResearch@paolocifani It goes without saying that the beers on the table were from my basement. Choice of amber ale and triple malt stout (which made Jenga way more challenging)

We welcome Peter Verhaert at CSHL. One of the pioneers of peptide MS, he's now pushing the boundaries of spatially resolved measurements of proteins and peptides, and he's sharing this with us.

Are you a passionate #LC-MS geek? Eager to take on important technical and biological questions? Wanna work in place with a private beach and beach volleyball court? Join us!!! https://t.co/xS4cDWV9rL
Little pilot at @CSHL MS core: we train users to prep their samples on their own and we provide tested equipment, MS-grade reagents and consumables. Judging from the smile of coach Francesca, so far it was a success! (let's post this before seeing the chromatograms...).
#proteomics twitterverse! The MS core facility at Cold Spring Harbor Labs is recruiting techs, lab manager, proteomic science and almost any level of geeks that like science, LC and MS. Contact us to know more about this position! #proteomicjob#massspec https://t.co/VAHaeePCgi
Today I learned from @OdedRechavi how acquired traits can be inherited (one of the best scientific talks I ever attended). Mechanism proposed is based on RNA so now I'm here thinking of possible protein-based ways to transmit information across cell generations (beside prions)
