@donwinslow SS was designed to be a mandatory retirement planning. The amount you pay is based on income, which then determines amount of benefit you will receive upon retirement. If you’re ok with raising the max, I would assume you’d be ok with increased benefit for high earners too?

@omgsidewalks There are all kinds of tax breaks for individuals to incentivize behavior and provide help. There are individual tax breaks for dependent children, home ownership, medical expenses, and education expenses among many others. Your logic is fundamentally flawed.

Small scale community led organizations make the biggest difference because they are closer to the needs of their community and are insulated from massive fraud. @Nabilah_Parkes Please explain how no more data centers will lower our bills or protect our families. Corporations get tax breaks but they also increase the tax revenue significantly more than individual families. Plus they add jobs that attract employees which also increases the tax base.
