The U.S. military was charged $4,361 for a half inch metal pin that costs $46.
Why? Defense contractors—with ties to private equity—are raking in excess profits.
Instead of cracking down, Trump's DoD is inviting private equity to be MORE involved in our national defense.
Hayes: Am I right that you were detained for five hours during after this arrest?
Hearn: Yes. I was in the lockup. I was photographed and they put me back in, fingerprinted, put me back in, and I had not been able to allow to make a phone call. No, nobody really knew I was there. I was held incommunicado that whole time, was never read my rights.
#BREAKING: Hayes: I’m not an expert but even I didn’t expect the material to be peeling off in a number of DAYS. What exactly did they do there? 😂
Maxine Joselow: “What I can say is that federal contracting records and internal Park Service documents show that this material that they spread on the bottom of the Reflecting Pool to waterproof the bottom is called Rhino Liner 5000. It is a polyurethane coating that is typically used in truck bed liners and in pipes including water pipes and sewage pipes, and It is NOT typically used in swimming pools or in large water basins like the Reflecting Pool.” 🙄🤦♀️
IF you see Republican lawmakers lie about Trump being concerned about drugs hitting America, it's a good idea to remind them that he's already freed the top drug kingpins including Hernandez and Ulbricht, the largest Fentynol dark web dealer in HISTORY
If we only had a functional media to report on this.
The Trump regime has killed at least 210 people by bombing boats in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean since last September.
Remember: no judge or jury has found these boats were trafficking drugs. We're simply taking Trump's word for it.
This is a danger to us all. https://t.co/rQOadGfmzZ
Too many families are struggling to make ends meet, so we must work to make life more affordable, not less. While Duke Energy Carolinas just reduced its proposed rate increase, it’s still too high. This development proves that when North Carolinians make their voices heard, it makes a difference. Let’s keep advocating for the Utilities Commission to do right by consumers. We need to lower costs for families – because every dollar counts.
Reporter: Some members of the Jewish community, including Democratic Congressman Josh Gottheimer, were alarmed by the language you used at the rally last week, calling AIPAC monsters who move dark money.
Mamdani: I want to be very clear. We’re talking about a status quo where children are being killed on a daily basis. More than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli military since the so-called ceasefire.
Even an Al Jazeera journalist, Ahmed Wishah, was killed this past Saturday by an Israeli strike. And when I am speaking about AIPAC, I’m speaking about an organization that has been supportive of the status quo, that has fought any attempt to actually deliver safety to people not just in Palestine but, frankly, throughout much of the region.
And it is a status quo of immorality. It is one that I will not accept. And when it comes to the way in which they defend the status quo, oftentimes they defend it through direct contributions, as we are seeing right now in New York 13.
Oftentimes they also support the status quo through dark money, by funneling money that would have previously come directly from AIPAC through other organizations whose contributors’ identities are only made clear after an election.
And I think it is important that when we ask ourselves how such death and destruction is happening overseas, we also name those who allow it to take place.
I’ve resigned from The Baltimore Sun after 25 years of politics and sports reporting. I was proud to have been there during a long period when our reporting followed the facts wherever they happened to lead. I’m not saying anything readers can’t see for themselves, but The Sun has changed since its purchase by David Smith, executive chairman of the Sinclair Broadcast Group. I no longer fit there. I’m grateful to the sources whose trust enabled me to report responsibly, and to the readers who supported our work. I’m exploring new opportunities inside and outside journalism. My DMs are open.
@IngrahamAngle We’ve been trying to get Trump to stop but he just keeps messing with it and making it worse. Here you go:
I urge Trump to stop vandalizing govt property by employing people with our tax dollars who don’t know what they are doing.
Today we say to the billionaire class and the corporate CEOs: enough is enough. You cannot have it all.
Your greed is destroying this country. And if you don’t change, we’re going to change it for you. https://t.co/2qTbLXwrNt
Breaking: Duke Energy Carolinas just lowered its proposed residential rate hike from 18% to 11.6%.
That happened after our office objected, along with Public Staff, other intervenors, and many North Carolinians.
It’s a step in the right direction, but it’s still too high.
We’ll keep making our case for lower rates - and for making sure families don’t get stuck paying unfair costs for data centers and other large users.
The Republican leaders of North Carolina's state legislature, who have failed to pass a state budget for over 1,000 days, are now scratching their heads about why the state doesn't have extra money laying around to fund non-essential, unscheduled activities.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Democrats want to make sure Social Security is there for future generations. Trump hasn’t even bothered to put forward a plan to ensure Social Security stays solvent.
If you don't want your benefits cut, the fight to protect Social Security is happening RIGHT NOW.
"How could the United States Senate confirm Tulsi Gabbard? How could it confirm Pete Hegseth? How could it confirm Robert F. Kennedy Jr.? How could it confirm Kash Patel? The answer is as depressing as it is obvious because courage has become scarce."

Trump wants to create a national database of every registered voter in the country.
Then, he and the GOP want to decide who gets to stay on it.
“It’s a way of essentially taking over the voter registration process,” Marc Elias says, “or, more precisely, taking over the results.”
