My biggest issue with D2 is how they handle the story. D1 was vague with some of it's lore which you would piece together through grimores online. But D2 anytime they start a new plot, add in bunch of new shit without explaining, and then explain it 4 seasons.

No, destiny was at it's best when each race had multiple different factions and the world still felt like a sci-fi post apocalyptic with some fantasy elements. The Collapse was so horrific/cataclysmic that no one's what exactly happened.

Destiny was at it's best when the aliens were unrelatable monsters and the Darkness was an eldritch cosmic force with no face of it's own. "The aliens are good actually" and the Witness existing is what killed the lore.
