David - if the women in your family were brutally raped, murdered, tortured and kidnapped by several members of an organisation - would you be defending that organisation and still pay them money - even as the women in your family continued to be held hostage, tortured and sexually abused?

If you WOULD continue to pay and defend them - then you are a very strange man with a very strange attitude towards murder, kidnapping and sexual violence against women

Ah, this guy. So desperate for it to be a genocide. Why isn’t he happy it is patently not? And why has he been citing death stats that are 10x more than even Hamas report on a daily basis?

The 42k includes natural deaths (on those lists I’ve found cancer patients who died after leaving Gaza since the war started to get cancer treatment in Israel, and people who died before the war started, for example). At the maximum, that’s 6k natural deaths since the war started.

It also includes 17-20k Hamas fighters, and that’s broadly corroborated by US intelligence.

The figure of dead civilians in Gaza is somewhere in the 10-20k range, maximum, and possibly below 10k at the lowest end of the estimate.

And, as I said in the post he’s upset about, that’s before ~66k births according the UN Population Fund.

He’s spent a year making a lying, screeching fool of himself over an imaginary genocide that is demonstrably not happening. Full report on the endless methodological errors and statistical manipulations in those lists will be out in the next couple of weeks. He’s going to love it 👌🏻

(Oh, the report also totally debunks the “reliable in previous conflicts” nonsense. Hamas have a provable track record in hiding fighting deaths in casualty figures).

@GeorgeMonbiot You've not once mentioned the hostages held in Gaza. This is a war, not a genocide (feel free to look up what this word means), started by Hamas whose stated aim is to genocide the Jews. It could end tomorrow if hostages were returned, but you don't care about them, do you?

Top British attorney Natasha Hausdorff stunned the audience by completely destroying the Palestinian narrative about the conflict.

Palestine never existed as a sovereign Arab state. The British Mandate of Palestine was a British regime that gained control of the land of Israel due to the fall of the Ottoman Empire after 1917.

Jews lived in the Holy Land (ie, the Old Yishuv) for centuries. Including under the control of the Ottoman Empire, when Jews were the majority of residents in Jerusalem.

Before 1909, Tel Aviv was a desert land. The empty land was bought legally by the Jews who turned it over the years into a prosperous city. Not a single Arab was thrown out of his home or cave by the Jews, who again, bought desert lands in the Land of Israel legally and built the kibbutzim (agricultural towns).

After the British government turned the mandate back to the U.N., the Arab-Muslim world rejected the UN partition plan and declared war not only against Israel, but also against their own Jewish population. The Arab states ethnically cleansed most of their Jewish population. Most of the Jewish refugees moved to Israel where the armies of Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Egypt joined forces and declared war along with the local Arab population with the public goal of "pushing all the Jews into the sea".
During the war of independence the Arab armies who started this war, ordered the local Arabs to leave the combat zones and allow them to annihilate the Jews living there. Some Arabs were also forcibly evacuated during the fighting and moved to nearby territories under the control of Egypt and Jordan (Gaza and the West Bank).

Israel has never committed and never will commit genocide. In fact by defending itself Israel is preventing another genocide of Jews.

Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran’s regime are the obstacles to peace in the Middle East!
