@CKalitin@sdamico A stovetop kettle designed for an Impulse stove, with a base designed for a) high electromagnetic coupling to the stove and b) high thermal conduction to the water and c) hydrodynamic features to force high rates of thermally-driven convection, would be a natural.
The large number of stars moving quickly from upper right to lower left are stars standing still as the camera tracks the rocket and satellite.
The points that come in from lower left are other satellites, probably in the GEO belt (Geostationary Earth Orbit).
Viasat still has to make some orbital adjustments to come into formation with the rest of the GEO sats. https://t.co/2RiabBkCmp says its orbit is still inclined by 1.5 degrees and 6000 km below GEO orbit at its lowest point.
I believe that’s what’s happening. An alternative explanation is that those are hot pixels in the camera, the telescope is not
tracking the Viasat, and so the apparent drift is due to post processing adjusting the frame after the fact to keep it centered.
And possibly both can be right: an Earth-fixed camera showing GEOs (the three big bright objects) and hot pixels (the rest of the points) maintaining relative location, and the Viasat moving through.
@auroralchorus@nosisterwars Not only deceitful and dishonest, but stupid enough to publicly announce that you will try to deceive them again.
Not publicly broadcasting a confession and intention whenever you commit fraud is also important to the insurance industry.
@Longi111@scotto2050 That’s the dip that caused me to double down.
The founder sold a small fraction of his holdings to fund a charity and a family trust with no intention of selling any more.
When the stock dip from that is so extreme, that tells me that the company is irrationally undervalued.
@DWDInvesting@CatSE___ApeX___ He clarified that the what was within the realm of possibility for 2028 was the Moon landing, supported by the replacement pad. The pad itself being ready would have to be earlier than that.
I enjoyed being at the CNBC event, but I wanted to clarify. The question was about the timing of the Moon Base and recent lunar rover awards. I was pointing out that those missions are not until 2028, which should be well within what is possible for pad recovery.
Blue Origin leadership has responded incredibly quickly, and NASA will do all we can to help with root cause analysis and accelerate pad recovery timeframes while staying extremely focused on progressing the lander.
@shpetim “Why did you leave your last job?”
“The company had liquidity issues so they had to let me go.”
“That often happens. Any experience with liquid-cooled data centers?”
“On my last job I tried to fix the plumbing in the server room but didn’t turn the water off properly first.”
@Jordan_W_Taylor It needs a Verilog compiler that sends a file to a CNC machine that mills out the pneumatic lines and mounting holes, then a pick-and-place for all the components.
@astro_bram The fastest rifle bullets found by a quick google are about 1600 meters/second.
Which is enough to go from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) around Earth to an elliptical orbit that gets a lot higher at the far end (but not as high as a GEO communications satellite).
