Excited to share my co-first author preprint describing a collaborative work to identify a new role for USP37 in antagonizing replisome disassembly!

@thomas_bonacci @dnatarheel @memanuele123 USP37 is known to be overexpressed in several cancers, hinting at its critical role in cancers with high levels of replication stress. Thus, USP37 function in antagonizing replisome disassembly can be exploited in cancers to induce even more replication stress.
@thomas_bonacci @dnatarheel @memanuele123 Through neat biochemical work, we show that USP37 interacts with the replisome and directly deubiquitinates MCM7. Interrstingly, we show that USP37 is essential for cells that overproduce the oncoproteins cyclin E1 or c-MYC, where its depletion severely undermines cell fitness.
