The fact that some mothers-in-law can be a handful does not mean you should judge one without meeting them, moreso, asking such a question and making such a remark.
@MrMekzy_ @t_Duches She wants to hear it, don't mind that she's saying she doesn't want to hear it because she's all up in her feelings at that moment. If you don't say it, you'll realise that she'll be upset that you didn't say you're sorry. Just make sure you mean it and you will effect a change.
@JamesLantern2 You made the right decision. It's so weird to be in someone's house and not acknowledge the person. It's also uncomfortable for the host.
