You are already identifying the litter with computer vision. That's the perfect time to sort it as well. Split the bin into three: recycling, compost, and landfill. Add periodic compaction (like a garbage truck), especially to recycling, because plastic bottles take up a lot of space and it will fill up quickly.

This morning - ๐ฐ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐บ ๐ธ0๐ธ๐ผ - let us reconsider the short story by Ray Bradbury: ๐ป๐๐๐๐ ๐พ๐๐๐ ๐ช๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐ ๐น๐๐๐๐, set today.
The title is a reference to a 1920 homonymous poem by Sara Teasdale:

While Teasdaleโs poem is a commentary on natureโs indifference to the human condition, Bradburyโs story is an exploration of the โsublime disregardโ of the autonomous technology we create to our wellbeing or our very existence.
Specifically, he conceives of a Smart Home (long before IoT was possible), that continuous operating after a nuclear apocalypse, oblivious to the absence of the very people it is tasked to serve, until it is inevitably consumed by entropy.
I invite you to read the entire story here: https://t.co/6fNxwFAxWu
However, my preferred version is narrated by the inimitable Leonard Nimoy, available to listen here: https://t.co/GwmxcfshlO
There was also a haunting animated version made in 1984 Soviet Russia, viewable here: https://t.co/JIi3rTvfW6
The establishing shot is even more important than that. Not only does it show the grand architecture of Halo, itโs specifically of the ceiling, confirming that we are underground. This whole cutscene was a continuation of the joke at the end of the previous level โthe last thing the covenant will expect is an aerial insertionโฆfrom undergroundโ. So it was also serving to set up the startled grunt as a continuation of that joke, while also reminding the player of absurd context to the beginning of the mission.
@Plinz@burkov@joekina Such a model would have to be capable of 1) abstract reasoning/planning, 2) parsing and expressing itself in natural language, which also implies understanding most verbs / nouns and their relations. (Arguably, you get the former for free with the latter.)
@Plinz@burkov@joekina This is maybe the most important question for the near term future of AI: can we make a "core intelligence" model, and how small can it be? @karpathy thinks we can, and it will be ~1B parameters.
Too many still think of China as it was decades ago instead of the accelerating peer it has already become. China has immense second-mover advantage and they are not afraid to take on the big, bold projects that once defined America...they built a 16 GW dam in 4 years, rapidly ramping all forms of power to meet demand including nuclear (you don't even want to compare timelines or cost between USA and Chinese plants), a ~380 mile water tunnel under construction, the largest ultra-high-voltage grid moving power efficiently, 25,000+ miles of high-speed rail, a planned 100 PW laser, they achieved a record fusion plasma demo, a tested quantum-encrypted satellite network, they for all purposes own global shipbuilding to influence trade, AI on the cheap, operational Mach-30 wind tunnel, already fielded hypersonics and atmospheric waverider weapons, sixth-gen fighter prototypes on display, humanoid and armed robodogs manufactured at scale and a space program with imminent reusable tech, fresh lunar samples (including from the far side of the Moon) and a space telescope project with a FOV 300ร Hubbleโs and expected at a fraction of the cost. Not to mention, they have line of sight on a moon landing in far less time and lower cost than the 100B we have invested over the last 35 years.
This is the first true geopolitical competitor we have faced since the start of the Cold War--and we donโt want to lose.
@yacineMTB I like to think
(right now, please!)
of a cybernetic forest
filled with pines and electronics
where deer stroll peacefully
past computers
as if they were flowers
with spinning blossoms.
@AtelierMissor_ No, their expertise would actually not be very helpful for large moving statues. Instead partner with an animatronics company like @WetaWorkshop or The Creature Technology Company
@grok @JMartin122_0918 @NotOpCue@SecKennedy@guardian@agent_mock@grok Help give some context for the quantities being discussed: Approximately how much fish would a baby have to eat to absorb the same amount of methylmurcury into their blood as there is ethylmurcury contained in one shot of a vaccine preserved by thimerosol? Show your math.
@lexfridman@Liv_Boeree What if all the world's inside of your head
Just creations of your own?
Your devils and your gods
All the living and the dead
And you're really all alone?
You can live in this illusion
You can choose to believe
And it's all
Right where it belongs
