@mldiffley I generally don’t have a lot of sympathy but the disbursement of their money does make the tax hits as bad as they could possibly be. (They still shouldn’t go broke).
A professional could get paid 2-3 million in their lifetime but because it’s spread out, never pay as much tax
@mldiffley I think the main issues are, urge to buy expensive things that can’t be recouped for the money, shady investors who steal/lose their money, and supporting tons of family and friends
@TheRealKeifer@pknhrz@Lionyank@YahooSports@Gametime It’s gonna vary, if it’s a team that’s good. You tend to have more fans, if it’s a team that’s god awful you have more people who are getting tickets solely for amusement and barely going (usually they’re cheaper when the team sucks). Otherwise people aren’t paying 5k/seat
@TheRealKeifer@pknhrz@Lionyank@YahooSports@Gametime I guess the question is, is it the majority of season ticket holders. I had season tickets for the capitals (nhl) and almost every single season ticket holder near me was a capitals fan. In pricier seats I do imagine it’s more businesses etc but overall generally fans
@TheRealKeifer@Lionyank@YahooSports@Gametime It’s not. People who have season tickets don’t have to put their tickets up for sale and those seats were never available to the general public. There will be a lot of Knicks fans for sure. But the limit is how many spurs season ticket holders held onto their seats
@WorldWideWob I go confused as well by seeing them saying 6pm without clearly mentioning it’s just coverage. My wife corrects me that the game is at 9pm.
Whether or not others knew or not, the point is that there wouldn’t be room for confusion if they stated it more clearly
Through four games, I can confidently say two things:
First, the Spurs are technically a better basketball team by a small margin.
Second, the Spurs are the dumber team by an astronomical margin.
@phatman_U812@michellebackus_ Bingo. The reality if it was only reclined a tiny bit it probably doesn’t make much difference but it’s too difficult to say “you can only recline 1 inch” so its simpler to have everyone’s seat upright
I know it’s very early signs but I think this game already shows the flaws with extending the tournament to 48 teams.
The gulf in quality here is huge. We’re just gonna have to watch Haiti, Cape Verde and Jordan get walloped 7-0 on repeat. 32 teams was perfect.
@NamelessImpala@notbpod I assume that’s what he was thinking. The main problem is he wasn’t wide open and the time ran off could be more valuable.
Of course had he went and missed both free throws, people could’ve said that he should’ve taken an easy* 2 points instead of going to the line.
@DissApointed21@EricSal_7 had they done that, they couldve had a more opportune time to take him off the court. all they needed to do was play normal offensively. use up more of the shot clock. instead it was chucking up bricks from 3 with 16 seconds left on the shot clock.
@DissApointed21@EricSal_7 yes, the main issue is the team needed to play better overall when he was on the floor and not take so many 3s and have better offensive possesions. It was clear Knicks had momentum and I think they knew if they took wemby off the wheels would fall off faster.
