This is Andy Thomas. Mechanical Engineer from University of Adelaide, former head of aeronautic science at Lockheed. While Paul Powers was Australia's first man in space, and Chapman our first qualified Astronaut, Thomas became our first qualified astronaut to go into space. Fun fact, he is also Australia's first Cosmonaut, since he qualified at the Gagarin Institute in Russia.

This is Paul Scully Power, first Australian to actually go to space. Riverview boy, St Johns at Usyd, Applied Mathematics (back when that meant something) Founded the RAN oceanographic group, was selected for Oceanograph team on Skylab and became the first Australian in space. Would later map the first ocean eddy. He is also the first man to ever go to space with a beard.
