I am delighted to be at Olive School, Namugongo, for the school's AI and Innovation Expo, where I am interacting with some of Uganda's brightest young innovators.

I am inspired by the creativity and capability of these learners, who, under the guidance of their teachers and mentors, are using artificial intelligence, science, engineering, and the creative arts to develop practical solutions to challenges facing our communities. From plastic waste recycling, hydraulic bridge systems, and solar-powered automotive technologies to painting, digital design, and other creative arts, these young people are demonstrating that innovation has no age.

This is exactly the mindset we must nurture if we are to build a science-led, technology-driven, and innovation-powered Uganda. Our responsibility is to continue supporting and believing in these young innovators so that today's ideas become tomorrow's industries and national solutions.

Together, we addressed the media about the forthcoming launch of the National Cleaning Days Initiative, a programme that was approved by the Cabinet meeting held in August 2025 and chaired by H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni .

The initiative will be launched by Her Excellency @jessica_alupo on behalf of the President in Kiti Zone, Kisenyi Parish, Kampala this Saturday.

The Vice President will also participate in the inaugural cleaning activities together with other Government leaders, religious and cultural leaders, and members of the general public.

The initiative establishes the last Saturday of every month as the National Cleaning Day (from 7:00 am to 9:00 am).

During this time, all Ugandans are expected to participate in organised community cleaning activities within their areas, including homes, markets, schools, health facilities, places of worship, roads, drainage channels, and other public spaces.

The Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. @R_Nabbanja has unveiled the National Cleaning Days Initiative under the slogan “A Clean Uganda is Everyone’s Responsibility”

It will take place every last Saturday of the month from 7:00-10:00am where all public activities will be paused except emergency vehicles. This is a mandatory exercise for everyone to ensure cleanliness and good hygiene in order to prevent diseases.
