So proud with @mkontari to launch this Compendium on Interorgan Crosstalk in Heart Failure & Cardiometabolic Disease. Heart failure it’s systemic. Multiorgan. Dynamic. @CircRes@dzhk_germany@dhzcharite@MDC_Berlin
Modern RCTs of GDMT in #HFpEF have been well represented with older adults (median age >70y) who carry a high burden of #frailty (upper range of FI>0.50)
Reassuringly, evidence supports that frail older adults benefit similarly (or even to a greater degree!) from core #GDMT👇🏾
Should polypharmacy in older adults dissuade treatment optimization in heart failure? No.
Contrary to common clinical beliefs, randomized data of core #GDMT suggests efficacy is greater, not lesser, among those on a large # of background medicines.
