@sharwash66 @TweetDeck It makes it easier because students can work at their own place and it makes learning in the classroom engaging for students. It is harder also because the teacher has to make sure their technology is updated and current at all times #wuedt6020
@h_sommerman I have enjoyed learning how to screencast and use apps to foster independence in the classroom. I have used these strategies in my centers to record instruction and tasks. After modeling some students forget and this has helped with small group. #wuedt6020
@Mr_WilliamPoore VR would be a great experience with group of students. What do you recommend to start off with for elementary students? I do not use VR, but I have seen them being used at our local library. #wuedt6020
@cricket311311 My students are one to one with iPads. A pro to having them is that you can download apps easily and set security measures to make sure students are on task. A con is it harder to teach proper keyboard finger placement and typing skills. #wuedt6020
@ashleymcole1@carmellatte12 Edmodo looks like at great tool to have in the classroom. Students are being help accountable for their own assignments. And not only communication between the teacher and student, but parents also. #wuedt6020
@carmellatte12 I find it hard to find social media applications that are elementary friendly and fun for my students. I have not tried Skype. Why types of things do you look for? #wuedt6020
@Hickman_wilmU I also use Class Dojo with my parents. I like to post pictures of things we are doing in the class to keep parents up to date. Do you use the the reward system part to this app? #wuedt6020
@carmellatte12 I have found resources on TinkerCad and MarkerBot. At my school we only have 1 printer and I was told that it may be difficult to print all Ss work. In other school around me they have at least 4 printers in a class. #wuedt6020
@LaurenGams30 What a great way to use 3D printing. This would make for a good assessment activity to conclude your unit or lesson. What age group would you do this activity with? #wuedt6020
@Hickman_wilmU Yes, my school has a 3D printer. I also think that my students would truly enjoy it. I have seen great things done with 3D printers, but mostly in middle and high schools. Finding an elementary lesson would be great! #wuedt6020
I will adopt 3D printing. Integration of this will start with a small enrichment group afterschool as a trail before it is pushed into my whole group class. We only have 1 printer and with time I feel it may be easier and then adapted later. #wuedt6020
@ericcrescenze@nicoleabes618@nicoleabes618 Please share when you do! We have one at school as well and I cant wait to use it, but I have younger students and I am still looking for ways to integrate it.
@Hickman_wilmU All the possibilities are great. Schools with high levels of poverty could show/experience so much with their students without leaving the school.
