Democrats and Republicans pretend to disagree on issues, but on the fundamental architecture of American power, the boundaries of acceptable policy are far narrower than the spectacle of electoral politics would have you believe. They agree on far more than they disagree on, they support the endless wars that line their pockets, they’re fine with foreign influence in elections, and they want you dead.

The permanent division is useful. If everyone is fighting red vs. blue, nobody is asking why so much remains the same regardless of who wins.
