Massachusetts ENA in DC for #ENAInDC day on the hill. Looking forward to meeting with staff from offices @SenMarkey@SenWarren@RepStephenLynch to discuss Workplace violence and Improving Mental Health Access from the ED.
If approved as-is, the bill would provide resources for EDs through a competitive grant program allowing them to adopt more collaborative and connected care models to connect mental health patients with appropriate resources in their communities.
The Improving Mental Health Access from the Emergency Department Act (S. 1346), one of ENA's Day on the Hill legislative priorities, was introduced in the Senate this week.
ENA applauds @RepJoeCourtney and @SenBaldwinGSPP for reintroducing the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act to take serious steps to address workplace violence against emergency nurses.

ENA wants to be sure you know which days to set aside for the biggest conference of the year. Emergency Nursing 2023 is scheduled for Sept. 21-23 at the San Diego Convention Center.
@BEMSOPS@BEMSincidents some could argue greater risk to patients from an overloaded ed then one that had a leaking water pipe. But we have come to accept waiting in the ed for 12 hours as the “norm”
ENA's new research page helps emergency nurses learn more about the research process, ENA-led initiatives and external studies available for participation. https://t.co/v9RoFEukId

Does anyone else in EM feel like they live in 2 completely separate but parallel universes? The war zone ‘in work’ and then the one ‘outside work’ where no one seems to have a clue what ED is going through. Its like retreating from a battlefield that no-one knows exists
