@panchopticon@LucasKeeton716@TfL Probably turned off the power to allow safe use of water to extinguish. Bad luck on all those on board given the probable lack of aircon.
@CrossCountryUK Am on GWR's 2P20 to Plymouth and it is 18 late, nxt stop Liskeard, meaning I will miss connection to your 1E73 (1727 Plymouth - Bristol PW) for which I have an advance XC only ticket. Am I ok to use it on 1M83 (1827 Plym - B'tol PW) if time is not made up by 2P20?
@aubetony AC is one of the best things ever when the weather is like this: nothing the anti-AC "environmentalists" can say or do will convince me otherwise - IMO there is a good reason why the word "mental" is found in "environmentalist."
@ZebraMan2615@2912clover@GWRHelp Not seen anything from LNWR but @LNER have said pax with EMR tickets can use LNER trains at no extra cost until end of service today (20/06).
@2912clover I hope that @CrossCountryUK will follow suit - they serve many places where alternative connections could be made such as Nottingham and Sheffield.
@mitchell_hurd@GWRHelp I think the daytime buses through Freshford are run by an operator based in Radstock but Avoncliff station has no buses. I think First in Bath have just acquired some smaller electric vehicles but I don't know if they would fit in Freshford's streets down to the station.
@mitchell_hurd@GWRHelp Not sure if you know the area but the problem with Freshford and, in particular, Avoncliff is that getting replacement buses of a suitable size down to those stations would be very tricky hence bus op through Freshford uses small vehicles. Could use taxis though.
@Missy_Ports I have looked at the live maps just now: trains are running through Nuneaton again this morning but I would imagine that there is a speed restriction in place over that bridge.
Heads-up to ppl trying to get trains to places between #Stafford & #Rugby, via. #Nuneaton: idiot in large vehicle damaged bridge at Marston Jabbett, nr. Bedworth: no @LNRailway trains likely to use that line atm; @AvantiWestCoast via. alt. route. Change at Coventry for Nuneaton.
@Missy_Ports@LNRailway@AvantiWestCoast It will certainly take a week or maybe two but I can see the possibility that, because the route has 3 tracks, it may be possible to close one track and then allow trains to use the other two tracks at reduced speed but Network Rail will have to decide that.
