It was a pleasure for the UEC to be participate in the @EuropeanLeagues' General Assembly last week in London, a fantastic opportunity to foster dialogue and strengthen collaborations across the sport. The event highlighted the interdependency between the clubs at the top of the pyramid and those at the bottom, which is recognised in the European model of sport.

Our General Secretary, @DGudasic, proudly represented the UEC alongside other key stakeholders. He emphasised the importance of hearing diverse perspectives to effectively tackle the challenges that affect us all: “It is essential to have multiple voices heard to address the issues impacting everyone in the ecosystem.”

🗓 The UEC’s first General Assembly took place today with over 80 clubs represented.

🗳 Alex Muzio of @UnionStGilloise was elected President of the UEC by the new Executive Board composed of 16 members.

Our co-founder @DGudasic at today's EU Sport Forum organised by the @EU_Commission: "The recent ECJ ruling provides an interesting framework for those tasked with governing and protecting the game as well as the steps that must be taken to comply with EU law. We should harness this moment of legal and regulatory clarification to innovate, adapt and ensure that European football continues to thrive under a governance model that protects and respects its heritage while embracing necessary changes."

The UEC is pleased to announce our participation in the upcoming EU Sport Forum organised by the @EU_Commission on April 16th and 17th 2024 in Liège, Belgium. This marks a significant milestone in our mission to advocate for the interests of non-elite clubs across Europe.

Joining with the major stakeholders, including @UEFA, @ECAEurope, @EuropeanLeagues, and @FansEurope, we will represent the voices of our members in a panel discussion on "new perspectives for the European football ecosystem". Our presence at this forum is testament to the progress we have made in this short time and our commitment towards a more democratic and inclusive football ecosystem.

Stay tuned for updates as we continue to champion the cause of equitable representation and governance in football.

The UEC resolutely supports UEFA as the regulator of European football, firmly opposing A22's efforts to destabilise the game. The SL proposition is an elitist move aimed at concentrating power and financial gains in the hands of a few clubs, undermining merit. #EarnItOnThePitch
