@vicgoddard Why? This is the Treasury telling DfE that they can’t have more money. It’s up to the DfE to then use the money they have to best effect - they could choose to fully fund any teacher/staff pay rise.

The STRB might not recommend bigger than already budgeted. And even if they do, DfE could move money around to ensure schools get it fully funded

@Strickomaster This is just that DfE won’t get more money if STRB recommends bigger pay rise than Treasury/DfE have budgeted for.
1) STRB recomm might be in line with, or lower, than govt budgeted
2) Even if higher, DfE could/would tighten its belt so schools don’t have to find the extra money

If the school suspects a parent is lying about a holiday then they are automatically suspecting a safeguarding concern & have to act

@DrRLofthouse What do you think does attract them to teach internationally? Low tax and brilliant behaviour is what I hear on the ground. But I’ve only ever seen you snipe against ‘warm strict’ and other initiatives to improve student behaviour.
