Using agents will make you X times more productive. This does not mean that companies will require fewer programmers. It means that companies will get X times more done, and make X times more profit.

I love this, but it's also bittersweet for me. I got all nostalgic for the days when I first discovered Laravel and would just browse through the documentation: discovering all of the possibilities and features. It was a really great thing for my creative flow because I could imagine all the ways I would use these things in building out an app.

You really shaped the way I think about architecting applications, and a lot of that was from the art of the possible discovered through Laravel's awesome documentation.

I will often prompt my agents to implement things in the Laravel framework because I understand how they work and that they're already built. Rather than rolling my own queue system, I'll say, "Go use Laravel queues for this." If I need caching, I already know that it works with Redis and the Laravel cache facade.

Certain things I sort of take for granted when it comes to prompting come from years of using the framework. I do think it would be helpful for the next generation to understand. Maybe there's a place for an even higher-level, abstract version of the docs that explains the features of the framework in a pseudo-technical fashion, so that people can understand what the features are to tell their agents what to build.

Maybe that's not even needed. Maybe the agents can just discover these things and execute on the ideas. Living in pretty wild times where AI is able to execute ideas, sometimes ones I didn't even think of, and it just works. I'm sort of blown away.

I'm so impressed with @bot right now

I'm building and maintaining a @laravel project. I have multiple Grokbot agents, like a support agent and a marketing assistant, etc., and they all work very flawlessly as I give them feedback and tasks.

Today I found out they interoperate seamlessly with my @cursor_ai agents that are already set up with the cloud projects. Now I can easily create bugs, track them in @linear, and the agents track their progress across the entire pipeline, all from my phone. I don't even use a dev machine anymore, and its trippy.

I was literally just talking to somebody today about how I actually use QuickBooks instead of vibe coding something because I don't want to solve regular accounting problems. In my case, I'm running a business with employees and payroll and a lot more of the standard stuff, plus a high volume of transactions through a point-of-sale system. So for my use case, it probably still doesn't make sense to vibe code something, but for a solopreneur or a business that's much simpler, it probably does make a lot more sense. Or at the very least, go with something other than QuickBooks, like Xero.

Nobody wants to relocate for a job anymore.

Do you realize what you're asking someone to do that has an established home base, schools, their partner has a career/job, they have a community and support around them?

You want them to uproot their entire lives.. and for what?

Slightly higher pay and zero guarantees that you won't drop them at the first sign of trouble?

Figure out how to support remote employees, or just go ahead and remove the listing. You'll save yours and everyone else's time.

Having a check means someone can just decide that you don't make a living one day. You have no power, no control, it's all risk and zero security. You aren't building anything for your future, your contributions dont pay into your future earnings.

And as you make even more on a W2, you get a really false sense of superiority and security that exposes you to an even bigger reality check.
