@engineers_feed Generically, an incandescent light bulb. This is a particularly low efficiency (relatively low lumens per way of energy used) design where the emphasis was on making the light source look like an open flame.
@PhysInHistory I am not sure why this question needs to be answered at all. What benefit is derived by categorizing mathematics in any way? What prompted this question to be asked?
@TeslaBoomerMama Unbelievable. The base requirement for any politician is to be able to handle the press. She fails terribly at this. She must be an effective communicator who can effortlessly article her poison on all relevant matters that are asked of her. Otherwise, no credibility = no win.
Always comforting to see Ross Gerber deliver his pearls of wisdom to the folks who run Tesla that apparently have no clue about what they are doing. They just seem to fumble along making high value products, generating profits for shareholders and making the world a better place. Insane how luck can consistently trump competency.
@YammerTime01 Amazing how we all tend to jump to conclusions. If the robot was tele-operated what good could come from Elon saying it isn't? He is the CEO of Tesla and making false representations could stir up a lot of unnecessary trouble.
@garyblack00 I believe the jury is still out on this matter. It will take several quarters to find out how the new Tesla offerings are taken up by the marketplace.
Getting a full pardon is very lucky for Trevor Milton after the downfall of Nikola. He seems just as energetic as ever and very capable of promoting this new development although it is very unclear what the claim to fame is that goes with the SJ36. So, he has a second chance, I hope he can do something with it this time.
The βdownhillβ reference did not go by me unnoticed. We will have to keep a close watch out for any use of tow planes β similar to what gliders use for high altitude launching. Perhaps he builds a prototype aircraft and glides it first to verify the new avionics.
@stevenmarkryan I confess that when I saw those blades, I speculated that Tesla had develop some kind of super efficient heat pump that would change the world.
Wow. So, anybody selling anything just wants to extract as much money as possible from their customers. I thought Teslaβs strategy for success was to bring value to its customers. And based on what I am seeing, that is exactly what they are doing. The way there are achieving this is though innovation. I am pretty sure you donβt walk into a Tesla dealership and get upsold. You alone are responsible for choosing what, if anything you want to buy.
Although I generally agree with your views, I suspect there may be another factor lurking in the background that could have an impact on Regulators. The areas that are more accepting of FSD (and Robotaxis) will start to emerge as progressive environments, willing to move into the future. This will put a lot of pressure on the non-participants. They will be viewed as falling behind. To make a reference to the distant past, When American Airlines introduced Sabre β their online booking system, overnight, every other airline without this capability was suddenly obsolete and scrambling to catch up. This will be interesting to watch from the sidelines. I expect the lack of FSD will render some automotive brands obsolete quite quickly.
@stevenmarkryan NL, Canada. Large area, small population. No Tesla Supercharger yet in this province. No Tesla Service Centre. Nearest major land area to the Titanic sinking.
I am Canadian so I know little of European politics. We seem to have reached a time where the only objective of a politician is to stay in power. The time when a politician committed to a set of principles and stuck with them is over. Todayβs politicians start their day by asking which way the wind is blowing so they can set course for the day annoying as few people as possible.
Although this is not exactly in line with the spirit of the law, it seems to be in line with the letter. In fact, they even got guidance on doing this before taking action. Most of us arrange the affairs in our personal lives to reap as much benefit as possible within the limits of the law, hence no reason to be surprised when corporations do exactly the same thing. Laws need to be carefully crafted if such unanticipated problems are to be avoided.
