@Lordoftheringsu This is so goofy. The basics of what Tolkien wrote about in the appendices he SA are so interesting and more than enough material for a show. Yet the show keeps wandering off on tangents. And what they do is generic at best. The whole show is a series of wasted opportunities.

@gilestelscanvas The thawing of relations between elves and dwarves gives you feel good story. And you can include flashbacks of elf-dwarf fighting for some action. There’s your framework. Now drill down with thorough plot lines. Instead we have too many shallow plots with too many digressions.

@gilestelscanvas There’s nothing wrong with network TV! But it’s not what people expect/want from Tolkien. Numenor gives you political intrigue and infighting and the forging of the rings gives you a compelling, tense interpersonal drama b/w Sauron - Celebrimbor.
