@boardyai Boardy is legit! Have had a number of solid intros with folks in industry (Defense Tech, PE Platforms, Independent Sponsors) about veteran hiring and business ownership. Highly recommend.
@ThaNewDealer723 That’s awesome! Running single crew or multiple at this point?
Were you military and/or commercial aviation?
Hope you don’t mind all the Qs - just love finding new people on here building something awesome for themselves 🤙🏼
🏃♂️ I've gamified my own run so I can race my own ghost with the Meta Ray-Ban Display.
I built a web app for the glasses, loaded a previous GPX from Strava, and dropped game mechanics on top.
Pick up coins when you keep pace, sprint zones reward extra points if you push, and a mini leaderboard on the lens shows how you're tracking against your past self in real time.
Best part: it actually works. Seeing your ghost 20 m ahead is a way stronger nudge than any number on a watch. 😅
@jamesonhaslam Don’t drink much anymore but Four Roses Small Batch was always the go-to. Blantons when I could find it too.
If you’re into Rye, Whistle Pig is great.
a few people asked me to turn this into a full essay, so i did!
read my full field guide to jobs, cold emails and making yourself legible to the right people. share with a student or jobseeker in your life: https://t.co/AlMF6zMyQX
@AKASpencerScott Send a nice note explaining that while we don’t normally take things of this size as part of our service, I grabbed it to build a pool slide for my kids (:
Humanizes but reenforces standards
Offering another scenario that is true for me and many neighbors:
I have babies. Takes forever to get them to sleep. That doorbell rings or door knocks, the dogs go ballistic and baby wakes up and starts crying. For some parents it’s a quiet window to actually be productive, disrupted because someone ignored the sign.
I respect the D2D hustle. But in this regard, I’ll never do business with someone who ignores the sign. Just sharing another perspective that’s real for many parents 🤙🏼
