My Jewish New Year resolution: expressing compassion for anyone's suffering, but not by hating or excluding others.ย ย Concern for all humanity is the key: but hatred in the cause of unity is the problem and not the solution. https://t.co/37nCnTBTje
Wonderful to participate in the @CDPB_NI conference today and discuss what leadership means, how the Nolan Principles enrich us, and how we can rebuild trust by demonstrating respect for those with whom we disagree. @HouseofCommons@HoCStandards
@ifyoutickleus In your usual whimsical way you highlight a troubling reality that world-wide trends of doubling down on "medieval" oppression and repression of women (and general illiberal thought) are intensifying and spreading, and are not the sole preserve of any race, religion or culture.
'This is a new opportunity...'
Parliamentary Standards Commissioner Daniel Greenberg tells @AndrewMarr9 that in tomorrow's meeting with new MPs, he will remind them that trust is at a 'dangerously low ebb' between the public and politicians.
On @BBCr4today Thought For The Day this morning I previewed my Welcome to Parliament speech for new Members, encouraging MPs to restore trust and respect between public and Parliament by showing they trust and respect each other. #StandardsInPublicLife https://t.co/mEZL6Q6sJL
@stevehenryx@stevehenryx How very kind - it's really encouraging and helpful to have positive feedback (and useful although less encouraging to have negative feedback!) - Daniel @BBCr4today
Bishops @UKHouseofLords โstrive to represent the values of the notion of religion as a fundament of the constitution by appealing to charity, mercy & forgivenessโ

Very much enjoyed participating - many thanks to @ConUnit_UCL and Professor Meg Russell for organising and chairing, and to fellow panellists - inducting new MPs after the election is going to be challenging, but @HouseofCommons we're well-prepared and looking forward.
Earlier today, we hosted an event to discuss what new MPs need to know and how they should find it out in the new parliament.

Enormously looking forward to participating in this event tomorrow - with many new MPs expected in the new Parliament, an exciting opportunity to think about messaging on standards in public life and other matters. @ConUnit_UCL@HansardSociety@instituteforgov@HouseofCommons
Whatever the result of the general election, there will be a large number of new MPs. But what do they need to know?
This Wednesday, join @RuthFox01, @DrHannahWhite, @DgLimited and @AlistairBurtUK to discuss the induction of new MPs.

@ZAAKAHNY A link to my thoughts on the iniquity of denying unrestricted and non-"filtered" access to the courts to resolve abuse allegations. https://t.co/0lFCgpjY36
@Daniel_Sugarman I am deeply troubled by those who think it is clever, funny or remotely appropriate to joke about someone dying in an accident. If we reduce ourselves to gloating and chortling over death we lose all claim not merely to superiority over anyone but to humanity itself.
