With over 78% of the vote, I’m honored to be your Democratic nominee for Assembly District 36.
Thanks to your support, a socialist immigrant mom will continue to represent Astoria and Long Island City in the New York State Assembly!
I'm proud to announce that we secured $351 million for flood prevention in The Bronx and Queens in the Water Resources Development Act.
This funding will go directly toward projects that will protect our community from flash floods.
In an effort to divide us, Black folks are told our politics aren't rooted in liberatory movements and that historically we haven't been connected to socialism or progressivism.
They’re wrong.
Yesterday at @cbcfinc, I hosted a panel on the Black radical tradition to recenter the fact that so many movements thoughout history have been to the left of the establishment. The coordinated attacks we’re seeing on our democracy, on Black politics, on economic justice are a reminder that the pathway forward is written in our past. Thank you to the incoming members who served as our panelists, to our moderator, and to everyone who joined us for a powerful discussion.
To get around our city, New Yorkers are buying devices that they've been led to believe are safe and legal. Often, they're neither.
This bill from @SenGonzalezNY and @DianaforQueens will end the sale of these deadly high-speed devices and fully ban their predatory marketing.
NEW: Just days after Ecuador's president met with Kristi Noem, ICE arrested his political foe in Miami. Even though an immigration judge found it likely José Serrano would be tortured, the U.S. deported him in a hasty process that took a single day.

This morning, I joined street safety advocates, elected officials, and micromobility retailers to announce my new legislation with @SenGonzalezNY to ban the sale and false advertising of dangerous, illegal vehicles known as e-motos.
Read more below 🧵
Our bill builds on actions taken by @NYCMayor@NewYorkStateAG by clarifying these practices are illegal and empowering the AG to take action against retailers.
Biking is the primary way I get around. Cyclists deserve to be safe riding around our city.

A reminder that — despite receiving the cold shoulder from his party's establishment — Zohran Mamdani is overwhelmingly popular with the Democratic rank-and-file.
There is no better case study in the disconnect between party elites and the base than Mamdani's sustained rise.
HUGE: Elizabeth Warren, AOC, and other members of Congress have introduced a bill to push private equity out of healthcare.
The Stop Corporate Takeovers of Physicians Act would make it illegal for private equity, insurance companies, and other for-profit corporations to own or control medical practices.
It would also close state-level loopholes that private equity firms have snuck through, prohibit corporate interference with clinical decisions, and more.
No New Yorker should be sold a “bike” or a high-speed scooter under the false premise that it’s safe or legal to ride.
This morning, @SenGonzalezNY and @DianaforQueens announced a bill to ban the sale of illegal high-speed devices and quell retailers’ predatory marketing.

“To get to any of us, you will have to go through all of us.”
Proud to stand with @NYCMayor and @NewYorkStateAG as he announces New York City is suing the Trump administration over their illegal, cruel, and racist “public charge” rule targeting immigrant New Yorkers.
New York City is leading a coalition suing the Trump administration over a policy that would allow the federal government to deny visas and green cards to immigrants who rely on public assistance, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said Monday.
The lawsuit claims the new "public charge" rule unlawfully expands the government's ability to consider immigrants' use of benefits like Medicaid, food stamps and housing vouchers when deciding whether to approve certain applications.
"The toll of this new rule cannot be overstated," Mamdani said. "It is simply a vehicle for confusion, and a vehicle for cruelty."
