This is FLUX (1995), an obscure PAL-exclusive visualizer for the Sega Genesis (Megadrive).
It runs on the cartridge and passes through to the Sega CD for audio. Apparently used at the 1995 Glastonbury Festival.
Here it is running on my Model 1 Genesis/CD.

@Creseki@InsaneMegaCD this guy gets it.
I’m preparing myself for the deluge of “cut content re-added” repacks.
AI apocalypse aside, the best time of all time to be into retro games.
@zange181@ComicSans4147@BronzeLeaguePro@bangohanforyou That being said, the practical impact of piracy in a market where the product is unavailable is minimal.
It is a fundamentally different situation than a product being available and someone choosing to pirate anyway.
It’s just a shame they choose not to serve these markets.
@zange181@ComicSans4147@BronzeLeaguePro@bangohanforyou I agree. It is a matter of business, not of rights. That is to say, it’s a foolish business decision to not make products available to all that will pay for them.
You do not have a RIGHT to the product.
@acanthari@dingchilling@Iyxon If I may add to this, being into chess (like being in hackathons) is an intelligence signifier to some people. It’s ignoring the social nature of people to assume they won’t LARP irl as well as online.
It’s annoying and logistically frustrating as well.
@zange181@ComicSans4147@BronzeLeaguePro@bangohanforyou Yes. Westerners can sometimes dress theft up as righteous. However, I think the greater point here is not complaining to Bandai Namco.
Complain! They rely on your money to buy their products. The bare minimum in that relationship is to provide the products for purchase.
@BartronPolygon@MThunderwing General use of electricity isn’t relevant?
Additionally, in a word of chip shortages, clever software that accommodates lower spec machines is appreciated.
Saturn emu specifically requires a strange amount of resources that make it’s very hit or miss.
@RyDawgE_@dookiiebum@St0wy@TailsGuy92 That’s why I said “exploded”. The mass proliferation all at once is the legal issue. Courts are largely unequipped to handle.
@dookiiebum@RyDawgE_@St0wy@TailsGuy92 Further, do you think this is an established thing? You think there’s caselaw on the books about how to handle Decomps? This brand new trend that exploded 6 months ago?
@dookiiebum@RyDawgE_@St0wy@TailsGuy92 Look WHAT up though? If freshly written code that re-creates existing software is technically its own thing and non-infringing?
Good luck convincing a 74 year old judge of that.
@dookiiebum@RyDawgE_@St0wy@TailsGuy92 lawyer here, absolutely trust your intuition about legalities.
Even IF what you’re doing isn’t illegal, if you get sued you’ll need to respond and it will cost you.
