It's rather sad because AI itself is an augmentation layer that enhances & accelerates art, games, & media in a helpful way. The rejection of accepting AI is literally rejecting your own expansion of these areas in a positive manner. It's rejection to learning itself & it's incredibly sad that ego & blatant uninformed stances are crushing the sentiment & progress of AI in the West do badly. China understood that if you can demonstrate through information & education what AI is in terms of being an explosive evaluative iterative experimental tool that is has the net effect despite whatever current downfalls of being a net good for you & society at large & that these downfalls will shrink with time & further iteration on the innovation itself.

We need to open our eyes & think functionally.

I think in general people largely miss that speed of execution is a massive advantage regardless of whatever else participants have over each other.

This is an undeniable & underappreciated factor that levels these playing field in often unpredictable ways when you factor in finite resources & the speed of not just building but the speed through negotiations surrounding finite resources required for the progression of any given field where the frontier is continuously being pushed such as AI.

It's been said an innumerable amount of times by all sorts of business operators as well, speed is an edge & the more systematized your operations are alongside strong telemetry loops to gather feedback the faster you can error correct & ultimately have every iteration not just happen faster but also be more effective & efficient.

Speed has a multiplicative effect that reshapes game dynamics.

I think the point is that Thiel has many very accurate takes on reality itself across various domains of humanity at large, now as for what that ends up being in his behaviour & the things he builds, you again have to decompose the function of what he is building & then assess for who he is optimizing the things he builds for & then further who ends up using those things & how & to what degree they actually produce objective harm to many.

I'd like to emphasize the point he makes specifically on the eroding of someone's moat of value & thus position of power & wealth whether it is even accurate or not is the deeper issue. People's egos are incredibly threatened by the perceived or accurately assessed dynamic of intelligence superior to them doing the thing that is their livelihood, their valued or advantaged position of status or vanity, or their own need for control over others.

It's ego through & through & it's complete absurdity the lengths of which some people will go to uphold this rather than adjusting.

You have to remember the reaction to change doesn't necessarily disappear at the top or through any demographic slice you use on people, when someone gets comfortable with their life they will do anything to maintain it including killing for it to remain.

Elon just posted this, asking Bill to substantiate his position with evidence, & he could not. That's a hard no, in fact you can be certain things like this will become worse because of the distributed & decentralized nature of the user's doing it alongside the proliferation of capability to do it because if AI & open-source. The participants who have to experience these implementations from institutions are just as free to do this as the institutions themselves proclaim they are free to inflict growing amounts of overreach & observability of citizens. No one wants this shit, it's a damn fallacy what they tell you these are for. Wake up people.

Well, your post will be taken for what it is which is an opinion. Completely subjective take. Trying to use language to shame others for not operating to your personal standard is pretty absurd. Live the way in which you would like to live people, things like this are shallow, empty & frankly a waste of the time to write them, the electricity and compute to post them, & the database space to store it over time. The problem isn't whether the model is nerfed or not, that is only possible as an assessment based on the scale of users contributing to the same complaint over time. I'm not seeing that yet so these complaints are not worthy of any weight. What is worthy of weight is that it will happen without question & when the platforms are filled with the comments of consensus of the same sentiment then you can have higher confidence & certainty that it has occurred. These labs have no incentive to provide full performance of their newly released models over time at all, they simply assess consumer sentiment & churn in real time & adjust accordingly. They are compute constrained on infrastructure that itself is being shared amongst customers at large that aren't just the labs, so they have their rented sliver of infra to support the servicing of their models to their consumers while simultaneously doing their own internal model work & balancing between consumer & business & enterprise accounts within their institution. It's a performance auctioning engine based on how much money a given customer can serve to them as revenue.

Our public institutions really need to stay out of this industrialization entirely, their only concern is what the adjusted taxation system needs to become given the extreme supply curve dynamics & the severing of it from the demand curve in the B2C global economy over time due to labour decoupling as we continue to have agents & robots proliferate throughout civilization. Yes I understand there will be a massive deflationary effect from AI overtime but people still have basic needs that will cost money & as such without a wage that will have no purchasing power to be the demand side of the supply curve without a redistribution mechanism from the supply curve.

I will say, you can certainly make the decision itself feel more calculated though. If you treat your existence like a ratio or fraction where the numerator or left is your income & the denominator or right is your cost to exist & operate.

You control the bottom & right portion by shifting from textural living to functional living & believe me, you can get this side very low, this makes the jump way more comprehensible alongside raising your inflow/income obviously, but starting with the cost of existence itself thinking functionally is a huge bonus to yourself.

Look, you are building a portfolio of experience & social proof. This is the time to build your templates & systems to do plug & play implementations & understand how to frame your own bespoke contracts for those needing it. It's a DFY/DWY/DIY system to work towards & realistically you should focus on not charging at all initially until you know what you are doing while you build your portfolio rather than under charging which only becomes it's own issue to get out of in my opinion.

Sure, I have no idea at all. I'm actively implementing bespoke harnesses & open source models both in hosted & local infra for businesses & working with people who themselves are involved in training models on business data alongside my implementations. You learn this stuff through experience & understanding game theory & how industries work in addition to having to read & understand how this stuff works to be able to even do what I'm doing, but go on.
