"The key to online student satisfaction will continue to be..engagement. As we enable more access, we must be even more inclusive. As more students take online courses..institutions will need to focus on..engagement strategies to support online success." https://t.co/xMA7APMHrG

Interesting to see one of my blog posts included in @Jisc 's guide: https://t.co/9G4LtTrAoP about design as a process. To note here though that the approach @StudyUCEM has evolved since I wrote that post.

Refreshing to see a session @Jisc's #ConnectMore24 event about #LearningDesign with @sarahknight and Sheila MacNeill. Lots of sensible reminders, many reflecting discussions from my MA in Online & Distance Education from several years ago. Still relevant :)

Useful research into student use of generative AI by @Jisc - range of uses from creating structure to getting feedback to coaching (etc.). Reasons for use: patient, always there, engage in discussion (etc.). But concerns too. Over to us as educators to develop skills and support.

[Sue Lowe @DisEdTech]

Catching up with @Jisc's #ConnectMore24. Similar themes on the use of generative AI, now integrated into tools many of us use already (e.g. Microsoft, Google), useful as a starting point but remember to fact check and consider where any data you input is going!

"this dataset continues a general trend in respect to online students at UK HEIs, which is steadily increasing numbers. (and) since 2019/20 some UK HEIs have grown international online student numbers significantly, highlighting growth potential." https://t.co/xnE6v6mL2J

Reflecting on #THEdigitalUK conference @UniofExeter, some common themes: Quality of online/digital learning, digital skills, data, collaboration/consultation between institutions and with students, inclusion/accessibility, sustainability and AI. @THEeventsglobal

I agree - another thought-provoking and useful session by Michael Webber @Jisc #Digifest24 about #AI past, present and future. Sensible plea to avoid mindlessly creating content - keep a focus on usefulness and freeing humans up to be humans.

[Dr Fiona Dixon 🦉 @DrFionaDixon]

Thought provoking keynote from Michael Webb, director of technology and analytics, @Jisc discussing all things AI, including how students are using AI, tangible competency, thinking about appropriate assessment in imaginative ways, and what next. #AIEd #Digifest24 #MIEE

[Scott Hayden #FE @scottdhayden]

Today at #Digifest24, we showcased how AI is helping Teachers at @BCoT. We have been embracing #GenAI since June 23 so educators can focus on what truly matters - connecting with students #EdTech #AIinEducation #LoveFE Thanks to @jisc for the opportunity and support 🙏🤖😎🦾👍

[Sue Lowe @DisEdTech]

Just catching up with #Digifest24 recordings. Your talk @scottdhayden was inspirational. Impressive how staff and students have grasped the potential of #AI at @bcot

[Scott Hayden #FE @scottdhayden]

I'm very lucky to have the opportunity to speak at #Digifest24 this year about #AI and #TeacherWellbeing. I will try really hard. #loveourcolleges #loveFE

[Lydia Arnold @LydiaJArnold]

Led a class exercise to make "Digital Top Trumps" where students design future digital skills cards, influenced by their views, research & AI. They rated these skills by difficulty and growth opportunities. The result? a GPT wordcloud. A productive way to explore digital skills.
