Keeping it wheel. Tired of dockless bike obstructions in this fair city of London.

Raising awareness of shared dockless e-bike obstructions on Twitter is one thing, but asking your MP to take action, to get this market regulated, is something we need more people involved in. If this fits with what you want please write to your MP. Suggested email attached. π
The correct design for these requires significantly more space. Flawed infrastructure, leading to predictable harm to vulnerable pedestrians. #PoorDesign
Lime bike parking in Wimbledon Park over tennis fortnight. Needed marshalling, but good capacity. Sadly, even with considerable allocated space, Lime tech not up to job of ensuring users did not park elsewhere in park, obstructing pavements. Selfish behaviour, enabled by Lime.
@vivienlash When Guanyin speaks,
With words of silk,
A glass of white,
To make all right
Is the ilk,
To bring the light,
Splish splash,
Slurp slurp,
What smooth delight
I'm continuing to struggle with everything, but felt it was right thing to get back on here for a little, and raise some of the dockless bike obstructions I was seeing in my local area, especially during and after Wimbledon Tennis. Taking another break. Wishing all of you well.
Alt text: Photo of a pedestrianised pavement in the City of London. Three quarters of the pavement is obstructed by dockless cycle hire bikes parked two abreast either side the full length - leaving a small gap in the middle for pedestrians.
A selection of Lime bike obstructions from my part of Wandsworth over the last week. Blocked access to a pedestrian crossing at a busy road, a couple of blocked pavements near dropped kerbs, and a largely obstructed pavement. #LimeBike#PavementsAreForPeople
From last Friday in Wandsworth. A cluster of 5 Lime bikes barricades a significant amount of pavement, beyond the pedestrian crossing and tactile pavement that blind and visually impaired pedestrians will use. #LimeBike
You know the old joke.
Q: Why did the Forest bike cross the road?
A: It didn't. It just sat there and obstructed the approach to the crossing for others. Including the chicken, who was very much not amused. ππ€¨
@Shrink_at_Large Also the various supports already have work elements built in for those who can, often at a level that is already challenging for many. Tightening the work focus is not only neglectful but also counterproductive.
The #DWP must focus on work not welfare, Liz Kendall tells us. Prioritizing work over welfare neglects those who most need our help. These are folk who have often been most let down often by society. Must we repeat the neglect of their needs?
The old lady with her shopping trolley seemed to prefer the flat pavement to the rough. Seemed stressed navigating around the Lime bike. Typical displacement of the Lime bike when parked at or near cycle racks. #LimeBike
From last week in Wandsworth. Yup, that's how the guy in the high viz vest parked the Lime bike before he wandered off. Not Lime staff, and someone shifted it later, but pretty blatantly obstructive and uncaring. #LimeBike
Frequent Lime bike parking against the wall of this private residence and the obvious stress this is causing to the local resident in question is simply unacceptable.

@VincentStops There's a hole in my bucket dear Liza! π€¨ But seriously, the operator tech should block it. The council didn't park the bike. It is the operator that allowed it. They are most in control of their fleet given the current status quo. Just my opinion.
When you're highly invested in the business, I guess the smile is all the brighter. Sadly the parking is less often Uber and more often a whole lot of Goofy Goober.
