Malawi SRHR Alliance was delighted to participate in the Health Budget Analysis meeting at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe. We commend the government decision to increase the health sector budget with 31% from 251 billion in 2022/23 to 330 billion in 2023/24.
Newborn Safety amidst Cholera in Malawi
In this deadly cholera outbreak, mothers (including 1st time parents) & those entrusted for carrying babies are encouraged to practice intensive hand hygiene to protect their n/borns before handling them as they have a weak immune system.
Inadequate access to clean water and sanitation facilities is one cause of cholera outbreaks. #UNICEF is supporting @MalawiGovt to stop #cholera by improving access to safe water and good sanitation as well as providing oral cholera vaccines.
