@beigegoat45 @lynx655@DecayM1911@DKThomp Demand is formed within the realm of knowable reality. If the economic system/gov’t were different during the internet boom, the reality of the internet could be fundamentally different, and what is in demand could be different too.
@Slownomaguy @SenSanders It’s more like the Afghan military was set up to rely on the US, so when the US left, the Afghan military had no clue how to function. Blame whoever in America decided that the Afghan military should always and forever need US support.
@mickib729@RepJayapal If you’re against one or more of the current democratic plans to establish child care, paid leave, health care, and address climate change, just say so directly and explain your reasons. I don’t understand being defensive when no one was attacking you.
@jennie0501@McCannSportsLaw GOP Supreme Court justices are generally not unhinged or irrational, because they’re under no pressure to be. Pay attention to how Barrett votes on cases concerning voting rights and moneyed interests. Important cases that frequently don’t make the news.
@JamesEdSmith@TheTrekAce@klhopki@JennaEllisEsq The Taliban are dangerous extremists. They do appear more interested in local governance than foreign terrorism, but they provide safe haven to terrorists and as a gov’t they were extremely oppressive and brutal. You can disapprove of US meddling without condoning the Taliban.
@FlynDutchman466@Conor_Maloney_ How exactly is a federal firearms registry unconstitutional? The 2nd amendment says the gov’t can’t arbitrarily take your guns, it says nothing about keeping track of them. In fact a firearms registry works with the “well-regulated” bit.
@Deb77910448@IlhanMN The moderate dems are the ones trying to prevent progress. If your representative is a moderate/conservative Democrat and you want the bipartisan deal passed, you should call and ask them to vote with Pelosi and the other democrats on reconciliation.
@kevinadiamond@AOC Please remember she probably knows what’s in the bill better than you do. Bipartisan can be comprehensive but it can also be corrupt or insufficient
@Aimee_CYND @FLnaenae @AOC Compromise only happens after you stand your ground as much as possible. If you’re willing to compromise from the start, you’ll come away with nothing.
@nynjpaweather If people vote for politicians who address climate change, wouldn’t that reduce the impact of climate change and thus the demand for his business? So I don’t think that statement was made in self-interest.
@Disgruntledmil4@MondaireJones M4A ain’t happening right now. Too many moderate dems who get funding from pharma, insurance etc. They’ll have to be voted out before M4A goes anywhere.
@GordonSinger5@TravisHepburn@mkraju We could reduce our national debt by building new towns smarter, but conservatives and moderates don’t want that so never mind.
@Loopy_Johnson @HGreat84 @EuphorbiaZ@mkraju Have they? Matt Cartwright which someone mentioned earlier won in a slightly red district. Katie Porter’s district is swing. Maybe at a local level it can happen, but that rarely translates to federal seats.
