3/At 9:04 PM, I purchased two $500 gift cards for $900 during the 9 PM sale launch. My card was charged. I received a confirmation. 24 hours later, a Sam’s Club rep assured me my order was valid & chuckled when I asked if it could be canceled.
2/Members complete purchases, cards are charged, confirmation emails are sent — then orders are quietly canceled days later.
I experienced this firsthand on April 30.

As former FTC Chair, your voice still matters. Sam’s Club runs semi-annual “door buster” sales on Disney & other popular electronic gift cards, and a disturbing pattern has emerged across social media. 1/2 #ConsumerProtection#GiftCards
@ForrMcd@lavernverkamp@MeidasTouch That’s hilarious. He left DJT’s policies in place. Immigration reform is one of the most difficult policy reforms the Congress faces and they won’t deal with it for many political reasons because they’d rather have a boogeyman than an actual debate about reform.
@AntillaJon@zandermander02@AshleyGWinter@OctoTrader 1/2 Because while it works sometimes, it has significant flaws- not that I’m defending the US system, but to make a blanket statement of superiority is unfounded. Unfortunately, I’ve had too many friends & family w/ bad outcomes in Canada due to delays in an overburdened system.
@olsonplanner What does this $165 blender do to warrant that price. I don’t think I’d spend that much on a blender where there are excellent options that are much less expensive. Wasting money isn’t good practice in general.
Big Pharma says they need to charge astronomical prices to pay for research and development. Yet, the amount they spend on manipulating the market to enrich shareholders completely eclipses what's spent on R&D. Today, I confronted a CEO about the industry's lies, with visuals ⤵️
@Miss_Mcfadyen Hello from Dallas, Texas!
There are so many interesting things about Dallas, but I thought your class would enjoy one of our local art pieces. It has been fun reading through your thread.
Have a great day!
@mehelfrich@dremilyportermd Misoprostol is also used for IUD insertion. I needed it last week & was told it would not be filled. I was also questioned about a prescription for a 67 yo who needs an EMB. Had to call the pharmacist to give him her DX to get it filled. She’s 67 should be all you need to know.
@lalani_safina@olsonplanner Level of skill needed would be expected of a 3rd yr gen surg resident. It’s great he asked, but he never should’ve been put in that situation. Terrible for patient safety, esp if he didn’t question it, & it creates a toxic learning environ. PD was a great leader & very fair.
@lalani_safina@olsonplanner Expectations were too high for a first year surgery resident who had been in the program for 3 days. He exploded when the new resident appropriately asked him to demonstrate how to do what he was ordered to do to the patient. He obviously didn’t have the temperament to teach.
@lalani_safina@olsonplanner It was sterile initially, but it was in the surgeon’s hand and was in use. This occurred with a patient open on the table. Very inappropriate behavior, to say the least.
@priyadonna@olsonplanner I discussed w the PD since I had nothing to lose as a med student. I knew the resident who was on the receiving end of that temper tantrum would not speak up. He was not hired as faculty and didn’t perform any further surgeries at our institution. A win for the program.
