Researchers from @Uni_Newcastle + @Sydney_Uni created 3D visualisations of seafloor features around Australia, from a shipwreck to ancient dunes.
These could be used to understand the threat of tsunami, or evidence of ancient beaches and dunes. https://t.co/unDhvwCact
On a voyage to investigate underwater landslides, a nervous team awaits the return of a sediment corer lowered 4.5km – half the height of Mount Everest – to the seafloor ⛴️ 🌊

And just like that its already over! I had the most incredible time on the #RVInvestigator for 5 1/2 weeks! We did some awesome science and had a ball! Thank you to the ship and @CSIRO crew as well as the amazing science team for an amazing time onboard!
So many people need to communicate well to get ship board research working well! It's something that really came through in my great chat with the current science team, inc. @DrKendallM@DrHannahPower@MikeKinsela & more on the CSIROs RV Investigator https://t.co/ZMO78quHDD
Yesterday on #RVInvestigator started out with a CTD which measures ocean temperature & salinity, as well as currents through the full water column & ended with a piston core. 🛳🌊
Here are some of our fabulous #WomenInSTEM ready to head out and section up the core! 💪📷👇
Listen to this really cool podcast episode with @avid_podcast to learn more about what we're doing on the @CSIRO#RVInvestigator and what life if like on a research voyage! 🌊🌅🌏
(Spoiler: it's pretty awesome!!)
