Google's Argon cracked a fusion energy math problem in a couple of hours
humans couldn't figure it out in 59 years
we still don't grasp the acceleration that's about to hit us
@_weidai I don’t have a tesla and I don’t use fsd, but I do use assistive driving all the time (lane keep assist and dynamic speed control) and it is a huge upgrade from driving manually even though, so I can imagine why would someone want to use fsd all the time. I would if I had it
So, to summarize, 900 mathematicians signed a letter basically saying "stop AI from doing math so that our jobs can stick around."
But for anyone who spends more than 5 seconds thinking about what unlocking the equivalent of a billion Fields Medalists would do for humanity, the benefits dramatically outweigh the costs.
Math abundance will help solve chips, medicine, fusion, and numerous other things that will improve the lives of billions, and save millions of lives.
I mean, there was a 0% chance of OpenAI (or any other AI lab) slowing down, so it's a moot point anyways.
But it just seems extremely selfish.
Speaking about scientific revolution: Zuckerberg’s Biohub is teaming up with Google DeepMind, Meta and the U.S. government on a $1.8B effort to build AI models of living cells.
"We're at the beginning of a new scientific paradigm with AI," Biohub head of science Alex Rives told Axios.
The goal is a “universal virtual cell” that lets scientists test experiments digitally, then choose the most promising ones to run in the lab.
DeepMind, Isomorphic Labs and Meta are collectively investing $300M. The $1.8B total combines funding, data, computing and measurement technology, including resources developed through prior NIH investment.
The most important thing we can apply AI to is improving medicine and human health - very excited about this partnership with the CZI and the Virtual Biology Initiative!
I'm still amazed there are people who use Claude Code and Codex on the daily yet don't own a Tesla
Tesla's FSD v14.3 is like Opus 5.5. It just works and it is just so good and buttery smooth
Imagine Astra-level computer use, but for driving your car
"but I love mah car, vroom vroom in my Lambo, it's a machine!"
please sit down. if you drive 30 or more mins per day and you haven't gotten a Tesla yet bc you "love to drive," I'm telling you that you sound like a programmer still hand-coding lines of Perl and PHP
You owe it to yourself to take a test drive of a new Tesla to see how far they have come and what FSD feels like
I feel bad for Ben because we’ve all pressed the accelerator like this; it just caused an accident this time.
When FSD seems wrong nowadays, it’s so good that we’re likely the ones who are wrong.
Bears will cite NHTSA data on crashes with FSD engaged, and cases like this count even though it’s human error.
That’s why Cybercab has no steering wheel or pedals—it’s safer without them.
Never expected Europe to be back. From what I’ve heard their benchmarks will be a welcome surprise, in a very positive way.

“It is the best open weights model from US or Europe on aggregated benchmarks.”
Wake up, baby! Germany has joined the race of frontier LLMs with its sovereign model "Kolibri".
And it's Open-Source, too!
Beats Qwen2635B, Nemotron3 Super, and Mistral Small 4 in the Math, Science, and Code arena! 🎉

Something just changed in European trucking.
Electric trucks are now cheaper to own than diesel in 6 major EU markets representing 46% of EU heavy-truck sales.
5-year savings: 🇳🇱 €100k
🇩🇪 €85k
🇩🇰 €69k
The diesel shock just moved the tipping point.
I’ve seen a French journalist report that FSD needs 5G to work and that infrastructure issues could therefore make it difficult to deploy... Well, in fact, FSD runs locally and just works anywhere without a connection.
Here’s FSD driving perfectly fine on a remote rural road with no signal (1:18), while I’m losing connection to music streaming.
Europe needs to accelerate.
For that, the basics need to be in order first. Cheap electricity supply, sovereign supply chains, and less bureaucracy hindering our builders.
We propose:
1. Declare energy crisis, prioritise fast buildout of renewables, energy storage, and net upgrades, and remove red tape making it take years.
2. Messmer plan 2.0. France build its nuclear grid via a standardised design allowing them to scale it in record-speed. We now need a European variant of that plan, one European design, mass-production, build across Europe.
3. Fast permitting for European mines, partnerships with Canada, Australia, Greenland and other stable partners.
4. Cut Europe's red tape by destroying the fragmentation hindering our innovators, Europe must have standardised, clear rules across the continent, and EU-inc must be implemented in its most ambitious variant.
5. Finish the capital markets union to allow easy investments across the union.
Once we have the basics ready, Europe will be able to innovate and win.
The Fragmentarians will lose.
We will unite Europe, and make Europe thrive for centuries to come! 🇪🇺
The alliance between Canada and Europe is not defined by what we oppose. It is about what we are for: freedom, solidarity, prosperity, sustainability. An alliance strong enough so that no one can dictate our choices.
Europe and Canada are each strong. Europe and Canada are even stronger together.
An honour to address the European parliament today.
