It is extremely noticeable how certain narratives against the Modi government and, more broadly, against Hindu civilisation have been cultivated so deeply and spread so widely that they now appear across geography, class, and educational background. Whether one speaks to the poor or the affluent, the educated or the uneducated, similar arguments and expressions are often repeated. This is particularly visible among sections of the Muslim community. Phrases such as “Modi is jahil” or “Amit Shah is tadipaar” are repeated almost mechanically. One may hear the same language from a university professor as from a roadside thela vendor.

A similar pattern can be seen in the circulation of newer political narratives. It is repeatedly claimed that Rahul Gandhi does not even own a house; that when he was required to vacate his government accommodation, he had no option but to stay at a friend’s house; that “chanda chori” or political funding controversies are directly linked to Modi; that China has captured Indian territory in Arunachal Pradesh; that people are naturally being attracted towards Islam and that, in a very short period, the whole world will become Muslim; that the RSS is not registered, does not follow the law, and pays no taxes; that the RSS opposed the Tiranga and did not hoist it at its headquarters; and that Modi wins elections only because of “vote chori.”

What is striking is the extraordinary uniformity with which these narratives travel from one social group to another. Their repetition itself gives them political force.

The irony is that the Modi government appears comparatively weak in the field of communication and narrative-building. There is no highly visible Information and Broadcasting Minister who consistently and effectively counters such claims in the public sphere. The Prime Minister also does not hold regular open press conferences, and this absence itself has become a political talking point. Even some of his young supporters ask why Modiji appears reluctant to face an unrestricted press conference, especially when they compare him with the American President, who may address the media even multiple times in a single day.

A government may perform strongly in administration, infrastructure, diplomacy, security, or welfare, but in modern politics, performance alone is not sufficient. Political communication is equally important. If allegations, half-truths, slogans, and ideological narratives are repeated continuously without an equally organised factual and persuasive response, they gradually acquire the appearance of accepted truth. This, in my view, is one of the most significant communication weaknesses facing the Modi government today. U appeal to following please take care of it.

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat is set to address the Indian diaspora in New York at the “Universal Oneness Celebrations” at Madison Square Garden on August 29, 2026.

Ahead of the event, New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani said, “I also stand here as the first Indian-American Mayor in our city's history, and my mother's family is all still in India.” He also expressed his opposition to Bhagwat's event.

Mamdani had earlier attended the Brooklyn Pakistan Day Mela on August 9, where he addressed the Pakistani-American community. Mr Masoud Pezeshkian, the Iranian President, Mr Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), and other senior Iranian leaders are increasingly speaking publicly about the present state of the Iran–U.S. confrontation. This growing visibility of political and security officials is significant. It could be interpreted as suggesting that the traditional concentration of authority around the Supreme Leader has weakened or that the leadership structure is undergoing an important transition. However, the absence of the Supreme Leader’s public voice alone cannot conclusively establish what has happened to him.

At the same time, Gulf countries are intensifying diplomatic efforts to mediate between Iran and the United States and to prevent the conflict from escalating further. These developments suggest that sustained U.S. military, economic, and diplomatic pressure may be influencing calculations within Tehran.

For Iran, therefore, the present moment could represent an important diplomatic opportunity. If Tehran uses mediation by Gulf states to negotiate a workable arrangement, it may be able to reduce external pressure and avoid further economic and strategic damage. @LehAirport sees a heavy footfall these days. While limitations of geography, as far as expansion of the airport is concerned, are understood, the facilities inside need to be improved. One baggage scanner with another in tandem (one has to get the baggage scanned twice) for @airindia creates a long queue. The security check area is congested, too.
While lateral ir horizontal expansion maybe an issue, what about the vertical one?
