The second and final part of my dissertation is FINALLY published!!! Yes, I graduated in 2016. Yes, it is now 2020. Yes, I had 5 R&Rs at the same journal. Yes this sole authored paper is the first paper I'm adding to my tenure file!!! And YES and most importantly 1/2

Starting a new job and getting married this last semester was NOT easy, and at MANY points I wondered if I was doing a good enough job at serving my students.

After today's final, I got a hug and a touching thank you from a student who had informed me at the beginning of the semester that they were struggling with their mental health, a Christmas gift and very sweet thank you card from another student,

But mostly, I wanted to post that I'm grateful 😊 to receive two R&R's, but displeased 😩 to receive them both today, before finals week and the holidays.

In spring of 2017 I decided to take a postdoc at @PurdueUniversity, leaving behind everyone- including all of my friends, family, and even my partner, who we weren't sure was going to move cross-country with me at the time.

I'm coming back to Cali and bringing my now-fiancée home! It feels absolutely unreal and I'm so incredibly grateful for every single person who has supported me on this crazy, grueling journey- I COULD NOT have done it without your love, support, and grounding!!
