On this Lunar New Year eve, I am reflecting on spending time with my family in China last year at this time, and the year before that being in Gaza with the beautiful people of Palestine.

When we are deeply rooted in where we come from, we can weather any storm. In strengthening and deepening the roots we have in the people and community who help make us who we are and what we fight for, we are better nourished and sustained for the long struggle ahead for collective liberation.
