👯 Good nights start with good friends, and there's one rule that never goes out of style, stick together.
Check in on your friends. Make sure everyone gets home safely. Send that "text me when you're home" message. Offer a glass of water. Be the friend you'd want by your side.

Our 5th tip in our 5-pillar strategy is all about…
✅#BALANCE
Alternate your drinks with water (or a non-alcoholic drink) and eat before and while you drink. Choose foods high in protein and healthy fats – salt will only make you thirsty! You also can’t “soak” it up.

✅#TIME
🕐 Limit yourself to one drink per hour, giving your body the ability to process the alcohol. We know you won’t always be drinking a “STANDARD DRINK” so take your time, go slow & wait 60-90 minutes between.
✅ #COUNT
It can be very easy to lose track of how much you’re drinking when you’re having fun with your crew. Make sure you always count how many (standard) drinks you’ve had so you can stay within your limit and know when to cut yourself off. 🙅♀️🙅♂️🙅
✅ #POUR
🫗 Pouring and measuring your own drinks, or ordering singles from the bar, is a great way to make sure you have fun without going overboard. 🤢 💡
Keep in mind that it takes your body about 60 minutes to process one standard drink.
As we count down to summer lets dive into a reminder of DrinkSmart’s 5-pillar strategy.
✅ #PLAN
Make sure you plan your drink count (and your ride home) before the night begins. Eating a meal before you go out and drinking water throughout the night will help you stay on track.
If your schedule’s packed this summer, don’t forget that breaks are productive too. Step away from the screen, take your lunch break outside, mute the notifications for a bit, and give your brain time to recharge.
You deserve a summer that feels balanced, not burnt out. 💛
Combining substances can amplify their effects, leading to increased risks of alcohol poisoning, nausea, dizziness, & impaired judgment.
#DrinkSmartTip: Never mix substances. If you’re planning on using alcohol or cannabis, stick to one or the other to minimize negative effects.
