H:E @AhmedHasanAden , Minister of Fisheries and Blue Economy of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and H.E. Wang Yu, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Federal Republic of Somalia, signed a landmark agreement granting Somali fishery products duty-free access to the Chinese market.
This important milestone marks a new chapter in Somalia–China economic cooperation and opens significant opportunities for Somali fisheries and seafood exports. The agreement is expected to enhance market access for high-quality Somali fishery products, increase export earnings, create employment opportunities across the fisheries value chain, attract investment in fish processing and cold-chain infrastructure, and strengthen the sustainable development of Somalia's blue economy.
The agreement reflects the strong partnership between Somalia and China and demonstrates their shared commitment to promoting trade, supporting economic development, and improving the livelihoods of Somali fishing communities through expanded international market opportunities.

SOMALILAND’S LOBBY NETWORK

Somaliland conducts all its lobbying activities in the US and Europe through a lobbying firm called FGS Global.

This company’s largest client is the UAE government, which pays FGS approximately $5 million per year to leverage its network of connections for negative press coverage.

FGS Global has made extensive efforts to create a positive narrative about Somaliland in the US media.

According to FARA filings, FGS Global has recently held meetings on Somaliland’s behalf with representatives from leading outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Bloomberg, NBC, NPR, and Axios. The entire reason for the glowing coverage of Somaliland in the international press is, quite simply, suitcases full of US dollars.

In addition, donations have been made to the Hudson Institute and Atlantic Council on behalf of Somaliland, ensuring that these two think tanks engage in PR work for Somaliland.

Somaliland makes over $1.5 million in unreported annual payments to the FGS Global lobbying firm.

All lobbying activities on behalf of Somaliland are organized by the Israeli-American Jewish wife of Somaliland’s Washington representative, Bashir Goth.

Over 1400 years ago, when a child was born, the Prophet ﷺ made it his Sunnah (practice) to take a small part of a date and place it in the newborn's mouth. He would chew it until it was soft and then rub it onto the palate of the baby. This is called Taḥnīk.
