A few observations about the X update where we get to see what country people are from:

- Many of the people with the strongest and most divisive and extreme opinions on America aren’t American

- Many of them pretended to be American

- Very few Americans pretend to be any other nationality

- America may not be as divided as it previously appeared online

I think it’s fine for non-Americans to have a take on America. But I also think Americans should know that those takes come from non Americans.

I can’t imagine that Europeans, for example, would appreciate having hundreds of the largest political social media accounts with huge followings that say they’re European actually be American. That wouldn’t feel right, would it?
